CHRISTIANE Amanpour, in a van in downtown Kabul, found herself surrounded by a crowd of men. Staring in through the windows. These guys haven't glimpsed a female, unless they're married or related to her, since forever. Under Operation Taliban, the only women they've ever seen have been in the imagination. To them, Christiane was Pamela Anderson.
