We need the stewardship of 5,000 Free Republic members to insure the continuation of the Free Republic Life Form!
Jim Robinson said in yesterday's post: "My projections are that our regular monthly expenses for next year will be running in the neighborhood of $22,000 per month, or approximately $264,000 total for the year. This means we will need to raise approximately $66,000 per quarter."
If 5,000 Free Republic members who believe in paying their own way and that no free lunch ever exists, pledge $5/month. Jim's goals and needs will be quickly surpassed!
5,000 good stewards of Free Republic pledging $5/month will total $75,000 per quarter. That would allow Jim/John a little breathing room!
Many of us donate more per month than that. So please don't reduce your donation. We just need 5,000 regular pledgers to make things easier for Jim.
Are there 5,000 good Stewards out there who can afford $5/month to keep alive the Free Republic Life Form?
One way to afford this is to cancel your subscription to your left wing fish wrap or bird cage liner. Donate half of that monthly cost to your favorite charity and the rest to Free Republic. If you do this, you remove your money from the enemies of America and invest it with the friends of America, Free Republic! That would be a double winner for America!
Become one of the 5,000 Freepers who believe that there is no Free Republic lunch and that only parasites want something for free! Sign up for $5/month on a monthly auto payment plan!
I want to annouce that I have purchased two 2 day firearms training certificates (a $500 value each) to Front Sight in Las Vegas that will be raffled off this weekend.
The details are still to be worked out, but it will be along the lines of X amount of a donation to FR gets you one entry in the raffle.
Get your ATM and Credit Cards ready for the Freepathon this weekend.
2 days of top notch training could be yours at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute
Power to the FReeoples!!!
My three comedy inspirations are Steve Martin, PJ O'Rourke, and Plácido Domingo.
I still have a warm place in my heart for GHB's "1000 Points of Light". Maybe we need to start a membership club whereby we seek 1000 FReepers to agree to sign up for a monthly DONATION (to be utilized at JimR's discretion) of $25 per month. Anyone who joins in can add a nice little star graphic after their name.
Whaddaya think??
(I'm signing up tommorrow, as soon as I make sure there's room on the card, since I've been doing my patriotic duty to stimulate the economy, one purchase at a time...)
I'm in. What do I gotta do!!!
In YOUR Culture a quarter dollar is worth .20 cents,
making one of your dollars worth 80% of our American dollar?
You MUST be Canadian!

Please keep us posted on how your fund raiser project goes for you and Free Republic!
So what the hell is stopping us now? We can voluntarily donate through this secure link. In about five minutes, you can set it up where you can have $5, $10, $20, whatever you can afford, taken from your debit card (or credit card) each month.
Over a year ago, I signed up for this service. I started out paying $10. Then I increased it to $20. Now I am increasing it to $25. You want to know something? I don't even notice the money. Sometimes I have to check my bank statement to make sure that the money is being taken out. I'm not a rich guy by any means. But $20 a month? I spend more than that getting pizza for the kids on a Friday night. I spent almost twice that much taking the family to the movies last week. In other words, this is chump change, even for a working-class guy like me.
I don't normally say inflammatory things like this but I am ashamed of my fellow Freepers, who visit this site every day like myself, who don't contribute to help keep Free Republic running. Do you show up at the shelters for free soup too? C'mon, don't be such a damn cheapskate. I don't care if it's only $5 a month, but sign up now! Like the person who started this thread said, even if 5,000 Freepers give just $5 a month, we will be able to cover our expenses. Anything extra can be used to grow the site and do some fun things every now and then. Think of the things we could do with a little extra money. We could hire a skywriter to write "Honk if you think Hillary is a selfish carpetbagger" over NYC. We could pay to have some of Registered great graphics plastered on billboards. We could have annual conventions and have a great time at minimal expense for ourselves. The sky is the limit when you have the funds. With the thousands upon thousands of people who visit and love this site giving just a few dollars a month, we will not only have the funds to grow the website but we will be able to move into other media and get even more exposure.
So please, if you aren't set up for a monthly contribution, please do so now. Even if it is just $5. It's not the amount that matters so long as everybody does their little part. Then you can ignore all these fund-raiser threads with a clean conscience. And when the day comes that Free Republic rivals the major media in influence, you can proudly say that you helped to build it.
Anyone on the monthly plan can get in by upping their monthly donation or a one time extra donation.
You needn't be 21 or 18 or whatever age is required by law because the certificates are valid anytime into the future.
They are transferable as well so you can give them as gifts if you are not the shooting type.
Please start a separate thread and put it on the bang list!
T Shirt for your info, please spread the word on big ern's great donations!
As an ornament of the Roman pantheon, Romulus is timeless.
A green * asterisk for, say, $5+ a month, a blue * one for $10+ a month and a red * asterisk for $20 or more per month. The vanity potential alone will insure more than sufficient to meet the projected quarterly expenses.
