Dear Jim: I will help support FR! I find the folks here for the most part and wonderful folks that care, and I have learned allot from these folks. There are a few that just wish to disrupt, and these as well as those trying to shut down FR should go away!!!!!!!!!!

A hearty thanks for providing us with this medium. My only suggestion would be to "tone down" the banning. I was originally banned under my first "nick" because someone didn't agree with my comments. I neither swore nor flamed nor used obscenities. I was emphatic about my opinion, but so what?

Now that I've survived dozens and dozens of posts and comments under my new nick, I'm very satisfied. Unfortunately, I tried to make an ongoing donation on the last go around and had to rescing it when I was banned. I'm leary of donating to anyone that would ban a hearty, honest and good-natured conservative like myself.

I think I'll give that "donation" deal another try. If you ever need any marketing assistance, please let me know. That's my expertize and my background.

No one is getting rich off this

Well, they should. You have a great idea, done excellent work on it, and put up with a lot of crap from idiots. And as far as people trying to shut down FR, well too damn bad for them. I and others would start a new one. It will not go away.

I was going to send a yearly donation, but have decided to do it monthly so I can increase as needed (If I send one big one I would probably get lazy and not send another until next year).

This site motivates me to keep up on things, gives me a place to have my say, and has inspired to work on my own web site (I already have a list of all tv and newspapers sites linked). I used to be active in local government and then my work schedule got in the way - but with email and faxing and this web site I feel more involved then I was before.

I may have my complaints at times about moved threads, etc, but this is your place and I try to always keep that in perspective. As far as subscription based - I think it would probably cause more problems then it solves. Are there any other types of donations other then money you could use? Like hardware, administrative work, programming, etc? I am sure many of us would donate both time and money to the cause and anything else we could. Or maybe our own freeper ebay where a % of each sale made goes to the war chest. Let me know if you need anything - money on the way when pay day rolls around. God Bless.

Keep it in its current form, if absolutely necessary I would be willing to pay a monthly membership fee to keep Freerepublic alive and to help keep the idiots out. There is nothing else like it on the web. The truth is here at Freerepublic.

As I suggested some time ago, FR would do well to operate simultaneously at two levels: one being the present arrangement and the other being a subscription-basis/value added web resource.

Re: the latter, topical forums such as religion, etc. could be accessed for a nominal fee as stand-alone services or as elective enhancements to the subscription-based resource.

Such would amke available to the FR and to FReepers the best of both worlds.

I'd be glad to discuss this further and perhaps help to implement and promote such a plan, so contact me if you wish....

I have been coming to FR for about two years now, I enjoy it very much. Maybe there are many like me who just drop in on occasion, post a line or two, but mostly just read. I do hope it will continue.

"UP!"

The only reason these people want to shut your website down is pure jealously. They are jealous of you and they hate you for your success. Just like they wish to foist the "fairness doctrine" on people like Rush Limbaugh they want you to shut up and they don't care how this is accomplished.

Judging from the number of drooling, whining, CINO, populist, wet panty, personality cult types on FR lately.. making it all but unbearable, I wouldn't call an orchestrated attack out of the question. A literal "conspiracy"

Regards Mr. Robinson.

PS: I couldn't care less about your finances or their publication. I would be willing to bet that most others feel the same way. The people who do are just looking for a stick to beat you with, so don't make a mistake by handing them one, imnsho.

I believe you could get enough money to run the site with advertising $. I expect there are alot of people who would like to promote their product/website on your site. I run http://www.bushcountry.org and would pay for advertising on FR if it was offered. Just a thought. All it takes is a software program to get things rolling, and someone to set it up for you. Once its set up, you don't really have to do anything but just put the banner/textlink up on the site. Just take a look the money Newsmax gets from their advertiser!

Jim, We all know how evil and powerfull the radical left has become in this country. We also know how influencial FR has become. Your Web Site has become a major asset for the cause of freedom throughout the world.

Jim, you, your partriotism, your honesty, your courage under fire, your tenacity etc etc etc. has the radical left pissing their pants. What to do? What to do? These low life slimey cowards are at their (dim)wits end. All that is left is personal attacks (Clinton legacy) and there is no one better at it than these leftoids (as in hemroid--pain in the ass, won't stay where they belong).

Jim, I suggest you use a good suppository so it won't be too painfull, sit on a real big toilet, and just pass these detractors once and for all. Flush immediately so as to not stink up the place. Their filthy stench precedes them and will certainly linger if not dealt with. Good luck.

May God protect you from the filth of the world as you do His will.

Looks like I better pay my monthly Freeper bill along with the car payment and mortgage. FreeRepublic gave me hope throughout the Clinton years, kept me informed better than any other source after 9/11, keeps me informed about the western part of the country (where my heart is) and continues to educate and enlighten. My deep gratitude to you, Jim. Thank you so very much for the service you provide!

This is the best, and stickiest, site on the web. You could make a fortune from advertising. I know why you don't and I love it just the way it is.
The only concern I have about your finances is the prayer that you have enough to keep this site going and for you and John to live like kings forever.
I lurked for a couple years before ever becoming a freeper and came to count on this site very quickly for the fastest and most accurate news anywhere. I've gotten in a few skirmishes along the way and feel like I won some of them. On the other hand, RightOnline very nicely chewed my butt the other day when I fully deserved it. That's what's great about this place. The news is fast, posters make sure the needed corrections come just as fast, and when we need to kick each other in the butt, you let us do that too.
Keep making it better and ignore those who attack you out of envy. Your friends are behind you and will support you wherever you take this site. This place is important to us and we will do whatever you need us to do to help you.

God Bless

The number of responses to this thread is amazing. Freep, Freeper and the likes have become part of my conservative dictionary. The site must go on. I am willing to pay a monthly fee to get my days worth of Free Rapublic.

Oh - if only I got as good of a return on my financial investments than I have from the donations I have given to FreeRepublc.

If FreeRepublic were to cease operations, there would be many a Freeper that would be devistated.

I can't even think about not being able to express my opinion, get feed back and stay informed. It is like having 10,000 Doctors, lawyers, investment bankers, programmers, political anaylists, politicians, historians, teachers, figherfighters, soldiers and pastors at our fingertips.

It is a matter of perspective. the percentage of disgruntled freepers wouldn't be more than 1 percent of the number of people that have been loyal freepers-lurkerss over the last 5 years. Microsoft would be absolutely jealous to have those type of statistics.

If there is anything we can do to aleviate your stress, just say the word.

God bless you,
