Dating a professor----What Perfume?

Please, if you don't want to answer or don't like the post: don't read it. I don't know where else to ask this without feeling foolish (though I do anyway). I am going to go out for the first time in a long while. I divorced 6 years ago. Went out a few times and decided it was a waste of time. Now, I met someone with whom I have a lot in common. Went with my daughter to get some perfume whatever you call it these days... WOW, selection was tremendous. Overload for me. So, you men out there: I like Lavender but do not want to remind him of his mother, for heavens sake and the pumpkin pie thing is too ridiculous.(the smell most men like...) So, help me out here.. what are your favorites?

I'm afraid you're asking the wrong side of the romantic aisle to help you out here, LL. Most men don't even know why they like the woman they like. Some men may on occasion realize they like her "scent," but out of that ridiculously small number, almost no men will have the faintest idea what that "scent" is called.

I really love vanilla. My wife has a perfume which smells like vanilla and I love it.

Another option since this fellow is a prefessor after all is patchuli oil...:) Sorry I couldn't help it..:)

Oh, yeah, one other thing ... of the men who do know the name of their lady's favorite perfume, none of them would admit it on a public forum.

To be totally honest, most of us men can't tell the difference between one fragrance and another, and don't particularly care what perfume women wear so long as it isn't too strong.

To be totally honest, I don't pay the slightest attention to how a woman smells. I wouldn't know the difference from a 50 cent gallon-size bottle of perfume from a $50 ounce-size bottle of perfume, just so long as it didn't smell overpowering or unpleasant. And I suspect that most of my fellow guys feel the same way.

Victoria's Secret (original) perfume - and men, if you dont know what to get your woman, it doesnt cost that much & it is always appreciated when I give it as a gift
