Movie "Star" Julia Roberts is a Shallow, Ignorant, Arrogant (Vanity)
Right Now!

Did anyone see this left-wing piece of crap on "The Late Show" tonight? I just finished seeing it and I am fuming mad.
Letterman tried to enlighten the dumb broad that the ORIGINAL "Ocean's 11" had a (real) all star cast and Roberts flippantly remarked she'd only seen a few bits of it, saying more or less she was not impressed.
Dave then tries to tell her that the Rat Pack did this movie in their heyday while ruling Las Vegas and tried to communicate to her what made the whole movie great, and she sits there STILL completely unimpressed.
I've never liked this dumb piece of trash, but she's now proven beyond a doubt she lacks all respect for her industry's history, and has no class or humility.
Go to hell, Julia. And take your "megastar" pals Pitt, Damon and Clooney with you.

She does chick flicks. I'm a chick. I like fluff. I'm a chick as well. Yet to me a 'chick flick' features fine looking gentlemen like Sean Connery (preferably as Bond, James Bond), Bruce Willis saying "come out to the coast, we'll have a great time" or Clint Eastwood explaining that his 44 is the most powerful handgun in the world. Now those are chick flicks!

It left off Norman Fell, who was in the original (obviously - since he is now RIP). Not sure which is funnier - Ocean's 11 or Robin and the Seven Hoods. Robin is more of a musical, and Peter Falk steals the show.

Why shouldn't she be an expert on her craft? After all she has an Oscar, which she received for portraying a foul-mouthed slut. It wasn't hard at all for her to stay in character and since every third word of dialog was "f*ck" then she really didn't have to memorize a script, either.

She's famous because she looks good on screen
She's ugly and she waddles when she walks. Sorry...don't see the "looks good" part.

...Julia has done the same yelp/jump in every movie she's made. And the bass-mouthed toothy laugh.

Yeah, she's a ditz, Stone, but what was so great about the original, anyway? The vaunted rat pack, led by that scumtoast sfacim' mafioso Frank the Spank were pretty much nothing but a bunch of cheesy entertainers with the morals of a street gang (though Frank and Dino DID have excellent singing voices). Hardly the finest Hollywood ever had to offer.

I don't plan on seeing Eeeee-Oh Eeeeleven's remake. The Rat Pack made the movie, WAS the movie. No one can replace Sammy or his rendition of the title song. Hope the remake tanks!

Look up "Shallow" in the dictionary and you'll see a picture of Julia Robert's face. She lacks a critical mass of brain cells.
If she wasn't a decent looking actress, she would be a waitress at a Waffle House in Smyrna, Georgia off Cobb Parkway.

I can't tell you how many video stores I went to trying to find Ocean's 11. I finally got it, and it's a treasure!

role models like Malkovich, Bruce Willis, Charlie Heston and James Woods, That's a fantastic foundation to work from!

Are you speaking of Julia Roberts, the carney folk?
To: Mary-Bayou
Actually, Don Cheadle played Sammy Davis, Jr. in an HBO film and was FANTASTIC. I don't think he could do any of the singing for the part(probably done by an impersonator) but he was simply amazing as the Sam-man.
Like I said, anyone who's seen him do work he can sink his teeth into, will agree Cheadle is the finest actor from EITHER Oceans 11 ensemble. No question.

"They drummed you out of Hollywood, so you come crawling back to Broadway. But Broadway doesn't go for booze and dope. Now get out of my way, I've got a man waiting for me." -- Helen Lawson I just read "Shadow of the Dolls", the "sequel" to "Valley of the Dolls". It's simply bad, and not even good bad. They moved the characters up to the 80s and 90s with no real explanation, and tried to play it straight -- very few b*tchy lines in it, and not even very much sex or drugs!
To: Skywalk
The best actor in EITHER list is Don Cheadle. He's among the very best in the business. Hell, Mission to Mars was a terrible movie, but any part with him is somewhat watchable. He, along with Alfred Molina, were the best things about Boogie Nights.

Bump to that!
To: Skywalk
Oh, HBO's "The Rat Pack" movie was great, and Cheadle really stole the show as Sammy.
Absolutely great. It's rumored that if Martin Scorsese's movie on Dean Martin gets moving Cheadle is the really the only contender to play Sammy.
