Movie "Star" Julia Roberts is a Shallow, Ignorant, Arrogant (Vanity)
Right Now!

Did anyone see this left-wing piece of crap on "The Late Show" tonight? I just finished seeing it and I am fuming mad.
Letterman tried to enlighten the dumb broad that the ORIGINAL "Ocean's 11" had a (real) all star cast and Roberts flippantly remarked she'd only seen a few bits of it, saying more or less she was not impressed.
Dave then tries to tell her that the Rat Pack did this movie in their heyday while ruling Las Vegas and tried to communicate to her what made the whole movie great, and she sits there STILL completely unimpressed.
I've never liked this dumb piece of trash, but she's now proven beyond a doubt she lacks all respect for her industry's history, and has no class or humility.
Go to hell, Julia. And take your "megastar" pals Pitt, Damon and Clooney with you.

I have worked in Hollywood as a writer/producer. Let me tell you that most women these days who flock to acting are mentally unstable, and have come from bad homes. This holds true to a lesser extent, with male actors. They lack self esteem, and this is manifested in their neurotic touchy-feely liberalism.

I suspect you are right. I personally know a young girl (oddly enough from Georgia) who is unusually attractive, and really charismatic. She is also sweet natured. I think one could say she has "it".
I noticed about two years ago she had begun a career in acting and has appeared in small roles in a few movies. For this particular girl that is the worst thing that could happen to her. She is, as you said, mentally unstable.
She did come from a good family tho.

I don't see what you're getting worked up about. It's not like she's paid to think.
To: StoneColdGOP
I've always thought she was over rated. I don't think she's that pretty either.

Remember, better Julia than Courtney Love, right?
Courtney Love plays a great hooker. Funny how she was able to get into the role as well as she did. It's like she was able to draw on some kind of life experience. LOL.

Not everyone should have the right of Free Speech, most notably actors and actressess. But I love reading Chuck Heston's editorials in American Rifleman.
And I especially love the story of his going to the stockholders' meeting and reading the lyrics to a rap music CD that the company was selling, without any bleeps. Everybody was shriveling into their seats, and the "artist" was let go a month later.

Just why is she a "star" anyway? Before Pretty Woman she did a very good job in Steel Magnolias as the pregnant daughter who dies. I think she had a best supporting Oscar nomination for her work.

Heston has really bad arthritis and has had hip and maybe knee replacements. He can hardly walk even with canes last I knew.

Not good looking, can`t act, is an airhead. Nuff said.

Letterman has the most finely-tuned BS detector in the talk show field. That's probably why he gets the "mean to guests" rap.

Yes. Heston is just kind of creaking along, but is still as sharp as a tack. Saw him on stage in Dallas in "Love Letters" with his wife

Just what is the importance of a, or any "Star"?
Some people are brighter, more savvy, more in tune than others, but being a 'star' doesn't give you anything except a pedestal upon which you both perch and self-worship at the same time. If you happen to have intelligence and happen to be a 'star' - so be it, but the adulation we place on these people who are familiar to us only because they are in the entertainment business, doesn't grant them anything.
When there is no substance, all there is left is skin, and teeth, and curves or a few bulges, and an agent who puts them into a position where their every word is supposed to be profound ---- but isn't.

My best buddy from high school had a job in Des Moines that gave him contact with a number of Hollywood stars that passed thru for whatever reason. He personally met Chuck Norris, his all-time (deservedly so) hero, and a few others, including Roberts early in her career. He described her as though basically nice, a very offbeat personality, definitely a bit out there and in so many words a little creepy to be around.

"why not get others who are just as attractive and not stupid?" That's my plan. Stupidity is a real turnoff. I'm looking for a woman whose beauty is only exceeded by her intelligence and sense of humor.
Mmmmm.....brains.

You can be a conservative in the industry. I have been for over ten years. The trick is being discreet. Of course, it's a lot easier today to acknowledge your political leanings than a few months ago. Only above-the-line tends to lean left. However, they are the most vocal and have the highest profile. Most crew members are moderates to conservative.
In my profession (writing), people tend to run the extremes. Hard to be a liberal and work on a script full of guns and explosions. Of course, the people that write the touchy-feely crap have exactly the kind of political views you'd expect.

"My wife was a big fan of hers but after hearing her rants about our President and the mean spirited nature this witch has toward him, she won't pay to see any movies she makes."
Neither will I! Makes you wonder why Ms. Roberts would alienate so many movie-goers by calling them "repugnant reptiles." Seems pretty stupid, since Republicans' money is as good as anybody else's money. Only thing I can figure, Julia doesn't think Republicans *go* to movies. She probably thinks we're too busy starving children and throwing old people out onto the street! What a creep.

She is a nice body (read:pair 'o t|ts) with a smile attached. Brains of a turnip and personality of a fried egg!
