U.S. Hints Rogue State Helped Bin Laden With Bio Weapons
World Tribune.com ^ | Tuesday 20, 2001 | John Bolton

Posted on 11/20/2001 7:19:22 AM PST by codebreaker

The United States said an unnamed nation may have helped Saudi fugitive Osama Bin Laden develop biological weapons.

"We are concerned that he could have been trying to acquire a rudimentary biological weapons capability, possibly with support from a state," U.S. Undersecretary for Arms Control and International Security John Bolton said at the opening of the United Nations conference on biological warfare.

Bin Laden has threatened to use biological weapons against the United States.

The Bush administration also named Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, and Syria as either possessing biological weapons or having the capability to produce them. The administration said Sudan also seeks biological weapons.

But Bolton highlighted what he termed was Iraq's biological weapons threat. Bolton said the regime of Iraqui Presdient Saddam Hussein has intesified BW development over the last three years.

"Iraq's biological weapons program remains a serious threat to international security," Bolton said. "The United States strongly suspects that Iraq has taken advantage of three years of no UN inspections to improve all phases of its offensive BW program."

Does anyone seriously think that this had anything to do with right wing nuts?

Leaving aside the impossibility of defining "right wing" these days, I wouldn't discount the possibility that Americans with their own agenda might be involved. It's the "enemy of my enemy" principle.

The only ones who ever seriously thought this are now running for cover, both within and without the boundaries of this great nation. Within, it's the likes of Hitlary, der Schliekmeister, etc., running for their political lives. Without, it's OBL, Omar, the Taliban, etc., who are running for their evil lives.

You'd better ALL be carefully "watching your six", because here we come and we're loaded for bear.

Always heavily strapped and ready in SW FL.

God bless the true patriot.

Carl Cameron said they didn't mention a nation, but that it was written in Russian. Lots of cartons of it, and some of the containers laying around

I can say this much with a level of confidence:

Of late, the Chinese do not approve of the NK governments 'rogue' attitude wrt the rest of the civilized world. they often consider P'yongyang's actions and public political statements an embarassment. However, they like the fact that they have a buffer state between them and the western allied SK and they would like the situation wrt NK/SK to remain status quoe because any action, war, famine, or DPRK government implosion will result in refugee/border security issues they do not want to deal with.

That settles it then. Let's start 'whoopin' on them in alphabetical order ;-)

Maybe blaming right wingers is part of Bushs'coalition building.

Hummm....could this be a way of giving our homeland terrorists unofficial notice without having to do too much on the homefront? Perhaps the story of a middle eastern man assisting in the Oaklahoma bombing is not so far fetched? Perhaps this is way turn extreme U.S. militias against international funds and/or assistance? Seems like it would be a good strategy given the climate here in the U.S. Maybe there is some truth to that old rumor after all.
