DONATE QUEER DOLLARS TO PROTEST SALVATION ARMY'S ANTI-GAY VENDETTA
Action Alert: Queer Dollar Campaign Against the Salvation Army Kicks Off Just In Time For The Holidays.
Cleveland - In response to the Salvation Army's recent actions Anti Racist Action of Cleveland announces the "Queer Dollars Campaign." Queer Dollars is a grass root, totally anonymous, non-confrontational way to protest against the Salvation Army's vendetta against Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender people.
"We were looking for an effective way in which individuals could express their disappointment to the Salvation Army for their deference to anti-gay pressure organizations," said ARA spokesperson Marcellus Watts. "We came up with the idea of donating Queer Dollars. We hope the idea catches on all over the country. Anyone who would like to protest can stuff the red kettles everytime they encounter a bell-ringing Salvation Army volunteer. "
Queer Dollars are "as queer as a 3 dollar bill," according to Watts. Printed on only one side, and bearing the number 3 on all four corners, the fake money has a message for the Salvation Army which reads. "When the Salvation Army ends its policy of religious bigotry against Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender people, then, and only then will this be a real dollar bill."
Queer Dollars may be downloaded and printed out at counterfeit dollars.
The Salvation Army recently rescinded their decision to offer health care benefits to domestic partners of its employees, bowing to pressure from anti-gay organizations. In July, the Washington Post reported that the Salvation Army in exchange for the group's support on the Bush administration's faith-based initiative, wanted the administration to shield religious charities that receive federal funds from city and statewide ordinances that protect gays and lesbians from discrimination. Pressure from civil rights groups and members of Congress convinced the White House not to pursue the discriminatory regulation sought by the Salvation Army.
"The Salvation Army has declared war against Gays." Said Watts. "We hope to send them a message loud and clear, that we are not going to continue to donate our money to a bigoted charity that publicly practices divisive and discriminatory policies."
Fighting oppresion through direct action and education, Anti-Racist Action (ARA) is a network of youth based anti-racist groups across the U.S. and 9 other countries dedicated to fighting all forms of racism.
The Cleveland ARA was formed in the summer of 1999 for the purpose of promoting public awareness, confronting discrimination, educating the public, and speaking out about, and building a grass roots movement against hate crimes, racism, sexism, anti-semitism, homophobia, and discrimination against the disabled, the oldest and the youngest in our society. Our basis of unity is "to expose, oppose, and confront racist organizing and the far-right agenda, through education, mass action, and support of broader anti-racist struggles." We work to educate ourself and others about prejudice, discrimination, and hate crimes.

I haven't seen one in years, certainly not in circulation You either live a very sheltered life or you're an inmate in a correctional facility.
To: One4Indictment
I live neither a sheltered life nor am I an inmate. I wasn't aware that seeing someone use a two-dollar bill to pay for something was a criteria for civilization. I have also not seen anyone use a Susan B. Anthony Dollar coin in years and have not seen many of the new dollar coins used as well. I don't frequent race tracks, casinos, gambling establishments, or wherever people use two dollar bills in abundance.
If the fact that I don't see two dollar bills used in a purchase transaction bothers anyone, I suggest that person get over it. Surely, you have a lot more important things to worry about; such as, getting your thumbs out of your backsides.
To: Almonjoi
Well, you are certainly entitled to your opinions. Isn't that what makes this a great country (in many regards anyway)? You definitely have the right to disagree with me--just as I have the right to disagree with you. That is okay. There is nothing wrong with that. In your post you accused me of "being gay". Although I am not, am I supposed to view that as an insult? That would be like calling me "black" or "Jewish". That does not offend me. I am sorry to disappoint you. One thing I think you should consider re: your post: You stated that homosexuality was a mental disorder. Is it? If you will check the DSM IV I think you will find that there is no such listing. If I am correct it was removed....What, are you going to say that, "That was jsut ecause it was only done by a bunch of psychologists under pressure?" And what about the American Medical Association? Why do they not view homosexuality as a disorder? Hmmmmmm..... One other thing in your post interested me. You said that you should ". . . worry about your own soul." I could not agree more. Oh, I would be interested to view your responses to the other questions I posed to the audience at large in my letter if you get the opportunity. Have a nice day. Sincerely, John Patrick Keefe II, B.A. Ed, MSW(s), Teacher and social worker

Dear Almonjoi: Just before signing off for the night, I reread your post once more. I guess I failed to address all of the things you had mentioned, and would like to take the opportunity to do so. First of all, you have probably seen the letter I wrote to Jim Baugh on his website--www.leavethekidsalone.com Apparently, he seems to be of the opinion that if anyone disagrees with what he has to say that it should be erased. Thus, he keeps removing both my posts and my signature from his guestbook. I told him that I thought that was rather sad, but that is his own issue. I do not believe that I have posted anywhere else.....But I could be wrong..... One thing you mentioned...I definitely agree with. You have the right to THINK ANYTHING YOU WANT! Do not let anyone tell you don't (or they can but you do not have to listen). As a member of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), I am a strong advocate of free speech! I feel that, when spoken in a kind, non-abusive manner, scholarly debate can be helpful if both parties agree. You contend that gays, lesbians, and bisexuals "choose" to be homosexual/bisexual. Really? How is that? I would like to know when you "chose" to be heterosexual. Where were you when you made this decision? What time of day was it? What were you wearing? Did you go off and tell anyone? How old were you? You see, this is the difficulty.....I certainly could not tell anyone when I "became" heterosexual--I just am. If you can honestly answer those questions.....Then you're the only person in the world who can--for which I congratulate you. Indeed, that would be quite a feat! In your last post you said this: HOWEVER, ALMOST EVERY SINGLE RIGHT THEY ARE "FIGHTING" FOR CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH SOME OTHER METHOD. What do you propose? Why can't you just let gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgendered individuals try to enjoy like to the fullest--just as I am sure you do? Why try to beat them down and tell them they are "not okay"? Are gays and lesbians trying to tell you that your sexual orientation is wrong? Have they? I am guessing that you are a Christian (please correct me if I am wrong). Thus, did not Jesus say to "Love thy neighbor as thyself?" Did he EVER personally mention homosexuality? No, He did not. That part was added later on by fallible human beings who were just trying to make sense of the world the best way they knew how. Of course, the Bible has been used and abused in a number of ways.....For and against slavery.....For and against the suppression of the rights of women....for and against gays, lesbians, and bisexuals....Maybe I should not have gone there....As that is a topic/debate to which there is no clear answer.....As people choose different religious beliefs.....And may or may not even subscribe to all of those proclaimed by their particular religion/denomination, etc. Oh, wait....I see you brought religion into this deate in your last post....Too late. :::shrugs::: To be quite honest with you, I do not know whether or not the majority of gays think that straight sex is gross. I have never asked them. What empirical evidence do you have to support this contention? Have you personally asked the majority of gays and lesbians? Of course, as a heterosexual, I do not necessarily find having sex with another male appealing, so you may very well be right. I would just like to see what empirical evidence you have to support your claim--that's all... This, of course, leads me to another issue. What empirical evidenc do you have to say that gays and lesbians make up 2-8% of the population yet account for 64% of all AIDS cases? That does not even make sense given that, if you look at the total number of AIDS cases and then compare it to the "2-8%" of gays and lesbians (as you claim), there are not even enough people in that population to support the HUGE number of current AIDS cases. Could you possibly provide me with a link to a site--anything--where you obtained your information? Are you applying this contention to the entire world, a particular nation, the world? I would like to know. One final thing: Please provide me with the definition of "normal". How does your own definition differ with that of your neighbor, your co-worker, other people in your community, the nation, the world? That is just something to consider. Sincerely, John Patrick Keefe II, B.A. Ed, MSW(s), Teacher and social worker

Ref #126: According to my dictionary,
Websters Collegiate Dictionary, Tenth Edition, the second definition of sododmy is: "noncoital and esp. anal or oral copulation with a member of the opposite sex."
So, Mr. Kevin Curry, do you want to throw the first stone?
To: eaglewatch
It is also the second definition for "sodomy." (Way too early for me!)
To: eaglewatch
So, Mr. Kevin Curry, do you want to throw the first stone?I don't throw stones. I judge sick, perverted behavior and call it that without apology. And yes, what you have desctribed is grossly sick, perverted, septic, sexual behavior that no self-respecting human being should engage in.
Howl demons, howl.
Now, about throwing stones: God will impose final judgment. His Word says He will destroy the person who willfuly indulges in these things. Take it up with Him.
To: eaglewatch
Come on, eaglewatch. By now your mentor should have whispered a clever rejoinder to you.
But let me ask you: why do you celebrate gross sexual perversion?
To: RobertBauman
I'll put real cash in the Salvation Army kettle, and print off a shi*load of this stuff to give to the Democrats at their next fund raiser. ROTFL!

Ref #132: First, I must apologize that I could not respond this am. Regrettably, I have a life to live outside of FR.
Having read your previous post to me, I have decided that you indeed are very deep in your religious beliefs. Why I applaude you for your "righteousness," I also feel sorry for you that you appear to have never enjoyed a real hot romp through the bedroom (or kitchen, for that matter).
As for me: well hell, I am into getting high and dragging out all the leather and slings and toys that will make any woman almost faint at the mere sight of them. I have fun with sex! I take great pleasure in sex! I use my entire body when I have sex! If God didn't want it so, why did He create sex and make it so pleasurable? (At least, for some of us.)
In the mean time, the reason I defend gays against the likes of you, is that if I allow you to tell gays what they can and cannot do, then I will have to allow you to tell me what I can and cannot do. As we say in this neck of the woods, "cold day in hell, dude!"

Ref 134: I hope I answered his question with the above post. Ya think?
To: RobertBauman
So now the creeps who have tried to runin the boy scouts and demoralize moms who wish to stay at home are out to ruin the ONE honest and wonderful charity that exists out there? What absolute revolting freaks. They want to punish the people the Salvation Army helps? Dag gone stinking homosexuals. I guess everything about them is gutter worthy, even their hearts.

OK, now I know about all the races of humanity: black, white, hispanic, American Indian, asian, lovers, haters, male, female, able-bodied, disabled, yound, middle-aged, old, and (of course) heterosexual and homosexual.
Yeah, right.

Not a firing squad. Not even close. After my dad retired he worked part time in a hotel 'corner store' which sold magazines, (decent ones in those days) and things a traveler would want- small town here- and mainly a liquer store. That was where I first became aware of 2 dollar bills. Alot of booze w as bought with the presumably purloined 2 dollar bill and silver dollars, which were around but not common in this area.
To: footstomper
The last time I saw a two dollar bill was as a kid. It was a crisp new one that had never been used and was obtained as a collector's item. I haven't seen one since.
