DONATE QUEER DOLLARS TO PROTEST SALVATION ARMY'S ANTI-GAY VENDETTA
Action Alert: Queer Dollar Campaign Against the Salvation Army Kicks Off Just In Time For The Holidays.
Cleveland - In response to the Salvation Army's recent actions Anti Racist Action of Cleveland announces the "Queer Dollars Campaign." Queer Dollars is a grass root, totally anonymous, non-confrontational way to protest against the Salvation Army's vendetta against Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender people.
"We were looking for an effective way in which individuals could express their disappointment to the Salvation Army for their deference to anti-gay pressure organizations," said ARA spokesperson Marcellus Watts. "We came up with the idea of donating Queer Dollars. We hope the idea catches on all over the country. Anyone who would like to protest can stuff the red kettles everytime they encounter a bell-ringing Salvation Army volunteer. "
Queer Dollars are "as queer as a 3 dollar bill," according to Watts. Printed on only one side, and bearing the number 3 on all four corners, the fake money has a message for the Salvation Army which reads. "When the Salvation Army ends its policy of religious bigotry against Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender people, then, and only then will this be a real dollar bill."
Queer Dollars may be downloaded and printed out at counterfeit dollars.
The Salvation Army recently rescinded their decision to offer health care benefits to domestic partners of its employees, bowing to pressure from anti-gay organizations. In July, the Washington Post reported that the Salvation Army in exchange for the group's support on the Bush administration's faith-based initiative, wanted the administration to shield religious charities that receive federal funds from city and statewide ordinances that protect gays and lesbians from discrimination. Pressure from civil rights groups and members of Congress convinced the White House not to pursue the discriminatory regulation sought by the Salvation Army.
"The Salvation Army has declared war against Gays." Said Watts. "We hope to send them a message loud and clear, that we are not going to continue to donate our money to a bigoted charity that publicly practices divisive and discriminatory policies."
Fighting oppresion through direct action and education, Anti-Racist Action (ARA) is a network of youth based anti-racist groups across the U.S. and 9 other countries dedicated to fighting all forms of racism.
The Cleveland ARA was formed in the summer of 1999 for the purpose of promoting public awareness, confronting discrimination, educating the public, and speaking out about, and building a grass roots movement against hate crimes, racism, sexism, anti-semitism, homophobia, and discrimination against the disabled, the oldest and the youngest in our society. Our basis of unity is "to expose, oppose, and confront racist organizing and the far-right agenda, through education, mass action, and support of broader anti-racist struggles." We work to educate ourself and others about prejudice, discrimination, and hate crimes.

This was a letter I wrote to a gentleman of a site that promotes what I personally consider hatred and discrimination (though I recognize that others disagree). I wish to post this letter to this site, as it was a link to his own home page. I already know before even posting this that many people will undoubtedly disagree with what I have to say (I mean, come on, let's face it--this is a very conservative website and I am a liberal), but that is okay. I think that debate and healthy discussions are good. I shall provide you the link to Jim's site (the person through whom I found this site), and shall also provide you with the wbsite of another organization--one on the "left" that believes just the opposite. I hope that you enjoy them both! Jim's website (againsty gays): www.leavethekidsalone.com Steven Cozza's website (for diversity and acceptance): www.scoutingforall.org NOTE: The "letter format" changed when I posted "previewed" my post. Thus, you will be reading this as one big lump instead of a more easily-read "letter" format. Dear Jim: My name is John Patrick Keefe II. I have visited your site several times out of both interest and shock. I will certainly not fault you for expressing your own personal beliefs and values. Indeed, I believe that that right belongs to each and every human being on this earth. When many people make their decisions about life issues and what they hold dear, they often--but certainly not always--do so based upon either experience or empirical evidence (both of which, as it is with most human activities, can be wrong). I must assume that your whole basis for creating and maintaining this website stems forth from the former. While you and I in all likelihood grew up in very different home environments (as most--but not all--of my views are pretty liberal, I must say that the rationale upon which you base your views appears a bit faulty. Now, I could be wrong--and I have been wrong before--but I do not think I am in this particular case. Over the centuries the issue of sexual orientation--something people cannot simply "choose", has long remained a great topic of debate. In my humble opinion, gays, lesbians, bi-sexuals, and transgendered individuals have every right to enjoy the same quality of life as anyone else. Consider other minority groups that people have--and often still do--discriminate against: people of color, women, people of different nationalities, people with various religious creeds (and even those who do not even have one), handicap status, veteran status, because of an individual's age, weight, height, ethnic origin...The list goes on and on. What purpose does discriminating serve? You might consider giving that some serious thought. Let me ask you, Jim, at what point did you wake up and decide that you WANTED to be heterosexual? Of course, if the decision was yours, I would expect you to know the exact date, time, and the place you were when it happened. Another point to consider: If you want to bean count "Biblical sins", do not we as heterosexuals have a LOT more to worry about than gays, lesbians, bi-sexuals, and transgendered individuals (assuming I believed thatthe type of sexual behavior in which they engage constituted a sin)? What about divorce? What about adultery? What about fornication? Have you given thought to heterosexuals who practice polygamy? One thing that you will learn if you ever take the time to get to know someone who is gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, or transgendered is that those people do not merely focus on sexual activity. Indeed, they do not do so any more than do we as heterosexsuals! Unfortunately, you cannot possibly know that unless you try to let go of some of your fear, anxiety, and hatred and really take the time to get to know people who are different from you. If you are strongly determined to sexualize gays, lesbians, bi-sexuals, and transgendered individuals, then surely you must do the same to heterosexuals. How many 1-900 numbers exist? How many magazines with pictures of nude women and men are for sale? Personally, I think that whenever we see others merely as sex objects that we truly miss out on the other qualities those individuals possess--the lasting values. Try taking a look in the Book of Proverbs. Something else you might consider: Gays, lesbians, bi-sexuals, and transgendered individuals do not focus their sexual appetites on young children any more than do heterosexuals. In fact, most adults who conmmit sexual offenses may find absolutely no attraction to young boys, as many are attracted to young girls....But wait a minute--that does not technically classify them as "gay", does it? The truth of the matter is that most people who sexually molest children fall into one of the following categories: #1) They have a primary attraction toward either young boys or young girls, preferring a particular age and physical characteristics--though they may also find themselves slightly attracted to women or men (or both) their own age (fixated offfender of either gender); #2) They may have a sole attraction to young boys or girls, preferring a particular age and physical characteristics with no expressed interest in same or near-age members of either sex; or #3) They may hold a primary attraction toward one sex or the other, preferring same or near age partners--using children as a substitute sexual object (situational offenders). I could list a few other categories and have oversimlified a bit, but that is the GENERAL scope of it. Hey, here is something to consider: If gay menare "always" attracted to young boys, then why should we let adult women in the Scouting program? After all, are not females attracted to males? Are not most young memebers (keeping the Explorer posts in mind) not males? Thus, should we trust females? No, they are all probably in the program because they want to sexually molest chldren. Yeah, that is it! You might recall that the Boy Scouts of America currently discriminates against gays, lesbians, bi-sexuals, transexuals, athiests (and this is admittedly a VERY LOOSE term), and girls. The BSA officials used to prevent women from volunteering until they finally saw that 1) it was a losing battle and 2) women had and continue to have so much to offer. Against whom will they discriminate next? Maybe you, Jim. Maybe you. I do not hate you, Jim. Like I said before--I respect your right to believe whatever it is you wish, and I am glad that you remain open to debate and discussion. I urge you to keep an open mind and an open heart. Do what you feel is right--even if others disagree (as long as what you do does not hurt others). Most importantly, remember to do unto others as you wouuld have them do unto you, to love thy neighbor as thyself, and to be as gentle with others as you possibly can. God bless, Jim. Sincerely, John Patrick Keefe II, B.A. Ed, MSW(s), Teacher and Social Worker

I knew I'd seen the name somewhere, but didn't realize where until the read the letter, AGAIN. I've read it more than once in various places, it seems. Anyway, it's easy to pretend to be a heterosexual when no one can see or hear you, but even a sympathetic heterosexual wouldn't have that much to say in defense of homosexuals. I don't buy it, sorry. But anyway, gay people need to take about 50 steps back out of the way for a change. I really wonder who it is they think they are, trying to change any and every person, rule, organization, law, or whatever it happens to be that deems what they "do" innapropriate. MY GOODNESS! You don't see a problem with this? It's already reaching the point that people can't even *THINK TO THEMSELVES* that being gay is wrong. This is a problem, and a serious one. I believe what I believe, and I think what I think and know what I know, and that is every bit MY RIGHT. If you think it's gross that I eat pigs feet, so what? That's your right. And it's my CHOICE. Just as gays CHOOSE to be gay, regardless of what you say, therefore they CHOOSE not to be entitled to rights and preveledges of married couples. HOWEVER, ALMOST EVERY SINGLE RIGHT THEY ARE "FIGHTING" FOR CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH SOME OTHER METHOD. We are all different people with different minds, and what gays want is IMPOSSIBLE. Every single person on this earth will NEVER deem their behavior as normal or appropriate, and it's COMPLETELY ABSURD to expect such a thing. Do you not know that the majority of gays think "straight sex" is gross? Perhaps we should throw ourselves a fit. I don't think I like the idea of someone thinking I'm gross. They have been busting their asses for decades searching for this "gay gene" they claim makes them that way and why do think they haven't *REALLY* found it (not the gay scientists who claimed they did)BECAUSE IT ISN'T THERE. IT'S A MENTAL DISORDER. Why do the government AIDS stats. state that although gays make up only 2-8 percent of the population, 64 percent of AIDS cases belong to gay men? Those are POWERFUL numbers, and that's becuase GAY IS NOT GOOD, GAY IS NOT NORMAL AND GAY IS NOT HEALTHY. Why can two women not have a child and two men not have a child? IT'S NOT NORMAL!! For goodness sake, it doesn't take a rocket scientist. God made one man and woman and said, "What God has joined together let NO MAN separate." Well, as far as I see it, that's exactly what gays intend to do. God help thier souls, not mine.

"It seems that the homosexuals are as creative in finding ways to protest as they are in finding places to put their willies."
Hahah, you gotta give them credit, it's a pretty clever, creative way to protest. I'm with the Salvation Army though, they'll be my main charity this season. I'm tired of special interest groups targetting everything from the Boy Scouts to Charity Aids for the Poor just to push their agendas.

Are you aware that the Germans lost World War II? No they did not. German skin preferences was defeated but not gay sex preferences ... same difference. That is what the sexual revolution was all about. Make love not war has its reverse side of make hate not peace. Every love has a hate, every war has a peace.
Gay love for their sex, Nazi love for aryans, all in the end mean hate of the other sex or kinds, hate of the non aryans.
The obsene is that a person will determine their lives on a physical preference, like buying a car for its color disregarding its safety. It's obsene.

Go ahead DNC, keep burning up votes.

I had to get $50 worth of $2 bills for a recent Navy "thing." I found a bank which luckily had enough, but they had to raid every teller's drawers (stop that!) to scrounge together 25 of the things...

FIRST, ARA is
NOT a "homosexual" group. ARA is just another extreme left-wing, anti-Christian, commie sack of $h-t that is using gays as an excuse to attack the Salvation Army.
READ the damn article! All of you posting your anti-gay crappola here are being too easily duped.
(Now, off to church.)

The Salvation Army recently rescinded their decision to offer health care benefits to domestic partners of its employees....Now, how many gays can really be affected by this? I mean, it seem that the Salvation Army itself is just the type of organization they would avoid working for. I would suspect that "domestic partners" refers more to unwed hetero relationships. But then, like all shrieking leftist groups, they have found that the flimsiest accusation is enough to persuade the sheeple at large.

The Salvation Army should have bio-hazard trash cans to dispose of the queer bills when they come in.
