"What's the going rate for naming rights on cabinet-level departments?" Word is that for the tidy sum of $1B, the HHS will now be known as the "Trojan Condoms Dept. of Health."
To: yikes
How about "Tostitos Department of Education" or the "Poulan Weedeater State Department" ?

Way too commerical -- better to say "The Department of Transportation, presented by AT&T".
To: bigbob
If you are worried about the price, you can't pay it!
Department of Defense= Lockheed-Martin and Boeing
Deparment of Commerce= BCCI
Deparment of Agriculture= ADM and Philip Morris

the bipartisan gesture Beware.

The way things are going these days, I think the "Paula Poundstone" Education Department might be more fitting.
To: DoughtyOne
Should have been Department of Ed... oh well.
To: Howlin
Agreed.

What's this? The Bush administration has the time and manpower to NAME the DOJ (who CARES what they call it), but don't have the time and manpower (or so the "move on" crowd here on FR keeps telling us) to follow up on ANY of the serious crimes committed by the Clinton administration and DNC the last 8 years? You know ... little things ... like Chinagate, Filegate, Emailgate, the death of Brown, the death of Foster, the Riady non-refund ... like ... TREASON, MURDER, MASS MURDER, ELECTION TAMPERING, BLACKMAIL and BRIBERY.

She's damn cute, too, in a geek sort of way.

I think I know now why Bush hates Washington.

Unless someone can convince me otherwise, I don't have a problem with this...except that no other department is named after a person. Honoring RFK isn't a problem in itself.
BTW, I'd like to nominate the Department of the Interior to be named after James Watt. (Imagine the *stroke* the leftists would have if Bush did that!! LOL!)

Note to self: wait to criticize Bush Administration until this is confirmed. Whoops ... too late.
Just like it is almost too late for the Bush administration to start doing SOMETHING about those crimes.

How about "Tostitos Department of Education" or the "Poulan Weedeater State Department" ?LOL! If this turned out to be an alternative way for the government to collect revenue and do away with taxing us, then I'm all for it.

Thinking back to how the DOJ operated during the Clinton administration to the present,
"Kennedy Justice" makes perfect sense.

I did not know she was a republican.

"It's just a decision that makes sense, and if it promotes a bit of harmony--that's not a bad thing, either."
I agree with your statement. And Robert Kennedy was assassinated while serving our country.
To: Cagey
President Bush plans to issue an executive order early next week naming the Justice Department after the late Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy So long as he doesn't destroy a significant portion of our nuclear armament without getting something in return, this is okay with me. Huh? He said he's going to do that?
Our president's naivete is showing, I'm very sad to say.
