Before Harry was born, a wizard
went
bad. About as bad as you can go. Worse. Worse than worse. He terrorized the wizard-ing world with a deadly curse.
Harry became famous as the boy who lived when he survived that deadly curse. Voldemort murdered Harrys dad, then threw the curse at Harry, but Harrys mom took the curse on herself to save him. Voldermort hit Harry with a curse again. Thats how he got his lightningbolt scar. But the curse was broken. Hagrid calls this a great mystry.
Lily Potter loved her sone so much that she gave her life. She jumped in front of the curse to save him. At the end of the story, the evil one couldnt even touch harry! As Dumbledore said, to have been loved so deaply, gave Harry protection forever.
What a great story! Its set in a fantasy world. Theres another great story. It REALLY HAPPENED in our world
Before the world began an angle went bad About as bad as you can go. Worse. Worse than worse. He terrorized the world with a deadly curse. God cast him out of heaven, like lightning see? He tricked people into disobeying God and hit em with a deadly curse. People lived in fear of death until the curse was broken.
Jesus broke the curse. He took it on himself when he died on the cross. When Jesus came back alive that proved the curse was broken.
God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him will not die but have eternal life. (John 3;16). Believe in Jesus. He is the real elixer of life.
Then you can be the boy (or Girl) who lived.
Jesus came to distroy the works of the devil (that angel that went bad). He prayed he would be protected from the evil one. In our world, all witchcraft is like the Dark arts at Hogworts. So dont dabble! Practice Defense against the dark arts. Get all your supernatural powers from God.

My kids would gladly burn a Harry Potter movie just to play D&D with me for an extra hour. Aren't they sweet?

I hate to break this to you, but flying brooms, witches, magic spells, magic potions, three-headed magic dogs, magic wands, spooks, goblins, ghosts, and other assorted hocus-pocus, are not real.
They are all make-believe.

Sorry about that :) I have a cynical sense of humor and usually forget that it doesn't always come across the way I want it to when writing. You should see my eye rolls, they are classic ;)

I'm selling Harry Potter Driza-Bone Coats (official gear) on the web site as of this weekend. Hope they're a big seller.
Potter is no more satanic than the Hardy Boys, The Illyiad and Grimms Fairy Tales. All of which the freakos on this site have read.

re : if their children asked for a fish they would scare them with a live snake on their plates.
Dont laugh I find it a good way to keep Kids on there toes, its one of me and Marys favourite joke, always brings tear to everyone.
Problem is finding a good size snake,.
Big hairy spiders are also good for this sort of Jolly Jape.

you'll think about the question...or you'll think about getting around to answering it?

I should also mention at this point that most of the people who are condemning Potter Books are the same ones who heap vitriol on the Roman Catholic Church.
They probably doubt their own convictions.

I just can't see my faith being shaken by reading a piece of fiction, and I wonder why so many seem to think that faith could be shaken by reading a piece of fiction. That just seems strange to me.
What you said. Sheesh.

I think it is finally time for registered to make up a "certified Harry Potter free" graphic that can be posted on safe threads...

Jesus saves...and takes half damage! That's good! The term double damage is actually in the bible too. So are a whole lot of other things that are found in D&D.
