I wonder if bumps are the work of Satan or possibly have magical powers.

Aren't you afraid that if you attend church after seeing, and possibly enjoying Harry Potter, that you will burst into flames upon entering the church? LMAO! I've heard that some are thinking we must all wear the mark of the lightning bolt as a symbol of our eternal damnation. ;-)

Really well said... I agree. Why are people so threatened by this book/movie, it just amazes me. Keeping it in perspective seems to be lost on the book burning Potter-haters. Nothing in this post suggested the author was in any threatened by H.P. He just had another, better story to tell. It had something in common with H.P. so he used H.P as a lead in. Also, everyone knows that articles with Harry Potter in the title get replies, even if they're not about Harry Potter.
Feel free to quote anything in the article negative about H.P., in case I missed it.
Shalom.

Heh. Anyway I feel jealous of about half the people on this thread. I don't get to see the movie until sometime next week!

I just can't see my faith being shaken by reading a piece of fiction, and I wonder why so many seem to think that faith could be shaken by reading a piece of fictionFrank Herbert wrote Dune as a Christ story, ala his thinking. The fact that the parallel shows so strongly in Harry Potter speaks to the power of the universality of the message.
That being said, it doesn't mean I endorse 'one size fits all' religion. Too bland and colorless to enjoy.
Sometimes I think of Harry Potter and the revival of 'witches' in our feminized and atheistic world as a secular search for an appropriate mythology left by the absence of humanity in the secular world and in it's renouncement of Christianity. It is remarkably akin to the religion the Romans gave up for Christianity. Science has not banished mystery, nor substituted it's contribution to our existence.

I am not a Harry Potter fan.
I am not going to see the movie, nor am I going to read the books.
The more I hear from the anti-Potter brigade, the more I am convinced that the publisher's marketing department came up with the "Harry Potter is demonic" mantra. It sure gets more attention than it deserves...which suggests that someone has a pecuniary interest in generating this attention.

In fact, I work for a firm called Dynamic Marketing llc. We are drumming up interest in Potter on this forum as well as others on the internet. We are looking for some concerned Christians to start a protest movement at local theater chains. We at D.M. l.l.c. firmly believe that if we can get a handful of protestors at the cineplexes, we can also get the local news crews out to cover them. We fell this would lead to even more hype and ensure that children everywhere would want to see this movie multiple times pushing us past the Titanic 600mil mark!

To say that Satan has become an "angel of light" to decieve mankind is true, but what amazes me is in this instance, Lucifer is not masqurading but is flaunting his rebellion openly and Christians are NOT decieved but willingly joining the heathen world to idolize the Potter media-creation. It is shameful and a blight on Christ's body. But Jesus said the LOVE OF MANY SHALL WAX COLD. ALSO BE ASSURED YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT enables them to continue producing garbage like Potter - and expect the "stories" to become ever viler as Potter grows-up, I assure you they will.
It is a question of separation from the things of the world, flesh and Devil and a individual CHOICE. - what will YOU sacrifice for Christ? Christ died for you that you may grow in God and become more Christlike as you surrender YOUR will and way and desires and pleasures and cleave unto His ways - Many will be astonished when they face God and he says, Depart, I do not know you. No, because they resisted every attempt of the Holy Spirit to come out from among the heathen and have a marriage union of their souls with the Heart of God. Do not tell me God is pleased with Harry Potter because God abhors witchcraft, in the Word it is very clear. Saying its just fiction, etc is just a cop-out for believers to go along with the flow. If you are a believer in God then you must also believe in the Devil and his minion hordes, demonic fallen ANGELS - I do not desire to allow the demon spirits that accompany this and many other movies into MY home. You choose this day WHOM YOU will serve, as for my house WE will serve the Lord.

The Bible speaks against witchcraft and sorcery....why would you want to fill your child's head with this garbage??
My family will NOT be wasting our money on that movie and this is one Episcopalian still supporting the DISNEY BOYCOTT, because of their agressive promotion of the homosexual agenda!!

Amen to that. Satan is not an ugly hateful being that all will now, in fact he is the great deceiver, try ing to be God. Many will perish because of his deception.
You like Harry Potter, fine, no one can say for sure that it is evil. The question is, what if it is? I believe the Bible completely and fully. Me and mine shall not be tempted or deceived.

I will be there on the thread when Freepers are discussing the future Potter books where the author has Potter growing-up to question his sexual-orientation why he has developed a fondness for the male wizards, since as you will all see this is the agenda that the Left has for your children, forsake God, and He will foraske you.
and I will say I TOLD YOU SO! It going to get worse wait and see.
