What's going on here? Why would a New York "Security Panel" call for a National ID card? I'm a bit confused. Please go easy on me, this is the first time I've posted an article like this. The talk of a National ID card really bothers me and makes me think of Revelations in the Bible.

How an ID makes one to think of Revelations but let me go along with that thought for a minute.....

If it makes you think of Revelations in the Bible, you should welcome it ... that means we are getting closer to the end times, right? I don't remember Revelations saying anything about the "end" being an "option"

If it's destiny, welcome it, the closer we are to meet our maker!

They can "recommend" anything they want. Since these panels are usually comprised of big government types, look for lots of horrific ideas amongst the fifty.

They'll undoubtedly be a call for some mandatory sensitivity training for somebody, an expansion of federal control over various aspects of our lives, some nice big fat dollar figure for increased federal spending on some vague "restructuring and reorganization" project (they love those), and a bunch of other crapola.

Their recommendations are no more binding than they are productive.

Asked about civil liberty objections to national ID cards, Goodman said, "The Constitution does give the right to privacy, but not the right to anonymity."
True... have to remember that one.

Well, if you think that's scary, go to The US Patent Office and search patent number 5,878,155, which is a method for the magnetic tattooing of human beings for the purpose of secure monetary and credit transactions...

From the article:

Goodman, who is also chairman of the state Senate's Investigations Committee, said the nation's private aviation system represents a "gigantic loophole" in security planning.

"You can load anything you want onto them, totally unsupervised, and these are not all tiny Piper Cubs. They can be enormous passenger planes," the Manhattan Republican said. "You load that with fuel and plow it into the U.N. building and goodbye U.N. building."

Anti-UN sentiment?

The senator said the universal identification card system would utilize high-tech microchips storing digitized fingerprints, facial characteristics and retinal images.

Goodman said the panel had not yet decided if the ID card system should be mandatory or voluntary, but that in his opinion a mandatory system would "maximize safety and security."

("They hate us for our freedom. They hate us for our freedom. They hate us for our freedom......")

We already had a national commission that looked into this and recommended it be iniatiated. The chairman was ex-Dem representative Barbara Jordan and I can't remember who the Republican vice-chair was.

I'd rather have an id card than have my social security card used as an id number as many businesses and my university do.

"The talk of a National ID card really bothers me and makes me think of Revelations in the Bible."

You get the picture. Now couple this with the new anti-terrorism laws and the UN call for global disarmanent and s standing army to enter any nation they choose. Like it's scripted right out of the Bible.

A special anti-terrorism committee created in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center will call for creation of a national identification card system, its chairman said Wednesday.

Well, these guys sure seem hell bent on creating deep divisions within American society during our time of crisis. I would think they would want us united during such a time, but no, these power junkies just have to have more control.

Many of us flatly refuse to carry national ID. No law, no argument, nothing anyone can do will possibly change our minds. We just aren't going to do it, consequences be damned.

So we who refuse ID will be persecuted and there will be infighting among Americans.

And our real enemies will smile and laugh at our misfortune.

How stupid and counterproductive, and completely predictable.
