Another unforgetable day in the life of President Bush as his attention was once again shifted to tragedy in New York. In a statement today, President Bush sent the people of New York City his "heartfelt sympathies" and told reporters it was "heartbreaking" to pick up the phone to Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and extend condolences. Earlier this morning, Bush met with South African President Nelson Mandela, who pledged his support of the war on terrorism.
For those of you in Rockaway, NY, our hearts and prayers go out to you, as well as to all the families of the victims of the AA 587. God be with you all.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: The New York people have suffered mightily; they suffer again. But there's no doubt in my mind that the New Yorkers are resilient and strong and courageous people, and will help their neighbors overcome this recent incident that took place.
May God bless the victims and their families.

Did you hear Nelson Mandela's statement? He called President Bush a "great leader" and said that we MUST NOT GIVE UP THE WAR!!! He was 100% in support of the war, and warned that if we withdraw, the terrorists will say that they defeated the United States of America, and then they would be back!
It was a wonderful statement, and a masterful bit of diplomacy which will make Chirac SHUT UP!!! Ha!!
Plus I noticed how helpful President Bush was to Mandela as he negotiated the stairs, as you can see in the pictures. No self-conciousness...just natural courtesy for the elderly, which I have noticed with him before. He is a good man, isn't he?

What an incredible day huh Bush/babes and Cheney/chicks? This shows on the face of President Bush again unfortunately. The day started out so surreal, like we were living through our national nightmare all over again.
My prayers go out to the loved ones of all of the victims on the flight and in the homes in NY. Who can even believe what they have had to go through there? God Bless them

"a good man"
Yes he is, and it sure shows that he had a good upbringing. His parents surely are proud of the job they did.

Another big bump for our daily does - thanks rintense.

Yes, Miss M., it was very touching to see GWB's concern for merely helping Mandela down that stairs. His momma raised him good.
I just love how President Bush has not only won the hearts and minds of the American people, but also the admiration of many world leaders. In a very short time, he earned their respect and support. We are truly blessed.

Thank you rintense. Our President has the weight of the world on his shoulders.
I was born in New York, but we moved when I was 7 years old - have cousins who still live there - they are hearty people, but all these tragedies are starting to wear them down.
Guess all we can do is keep them all in our prayers.

What a day!
He has certainly become a man aquainted with sorrow.
We are so fortunate that Christ is his source of strength.
