After reading a few hundred posts on the FR forum today I can only say, FR has turned into a "Conspiracy Theory Haven". People have been posting the most OUTLANDISH comments with absolutely nothing to support them except that a "Government Spokesman" has denied them. I guess that denial is proof in the world of the cynic who is unable to look at information and sift fact from conjecture.

I don't know what caused the crash today. I know for certain I DON'T have enough factual information to even form a reasonable opinion. (Note: the key word is REASONABLE!)

I look at known, objective information which I believe most would accept as factual and add to that pile of info as it becomes available. So far, there is absolutely no, I say again, NO, evidence that the crash was anything but malfunction. Now, a person needs fact to whittle away at that supposition. What FACTS do we have to do so?

Darn little, if any. Let's look-

1) Crashed in Rockaway. Hmmm Normal takeoff route. But one of many.
2) Rockaway is home of Mike Moran. SO?
3) Some witnesses claim to have heard an explosion...Most do not!
4) This type of airplane is crashproof. BS. Not worthy of comment.
Add others and try to RATIONALLY draw conclusions based on FACT. Not some hypothetical desire to be the one that proves it was OBL beyond a reasonable doubt. You ain't gonna be a hero, chum.

Flame away tin hatters, I can take it. But until I see some viable arguments to prove a conspiracy/terrorist influence, I will believe that a mechanical malfunction was the cause for the loss of 255 + innocent lives.

OMG... Is it really just a conspiracy that Usama bin Laden attacked the W.T.C. and the Pentagon? And we really aren't at war with al Qaeda in Afghanistan? That's another conspiracy too? And the anthrax attacks are more conspiracies?

Well, in the last 5 years, a lot more planes have crashed due to the former than the latter!

No real evidence points to terrorism at this time and as time goes on it appears that eyewitnesses (a number of them) saw the engine come apart, hit the tail section and then the wing came off. Of course I realize that eye witnesses can't be trusted, as in flt 800. BTW, I am firmly convinced, and stated so on the night it crashed, that it was caused by either our military or an outside source. I pick our military. Part of that comes from the absolutely corrupt pres at the time. We have a new power now and I place MUCH more faith in Bush than der klinton.

Well, put me in with the group that examines objects and events scientifically, uses inductive and deductive reasoning, and draws reasonable conclusions from stated hypotheses.

If you think about it, that's all we know about 9/11 as our source of info regarding 'evidence' has all come from the same place, our forever virtuous and honest Government. Bin Laden has confessed, but apparently this is disputed since there have been varying translations of what he actually said. However, one thing we do know for sure is the continual passing of more and more legislation curtailing our civil liberties.

Let us put it this way:
No planes have been shown to have crashed due to suicide terrorists except on 9/11/2001.
Today is not 9/11/2001.
Therefore this is not a suicide terrorist attack.
This is a fair working hypothesis until we have some evidence.

He had a laptop computer, two satellite phones, and guess what?- false airport identity documents and a certificate identifying him as a qualified airline mechanic. No. What you have described is a piece of data, one of billions, which may or may not be related to today's incident. Whether it is connected will be determined after evidence is collected. One kind of evidence would be the accumulation of numerous items of data, and establishing a hypothesis as to their relationships, if any. Then more evidence will prove or disprove the hypothesis.

If there is evidence on the 'black boxes' as to what happenned, we'll probably get a preliminary theory (at least) within a week. If they have to reconstruct the plane, we won't know until springtime.
