Conspiracies abound

After reading a few hundred posts on the FR forum today I can only say, FR has turned into a "Conspiracy Theory Haven". People have been posting the most OUTLANDISH comments with absolutely nothing to support them except that a "Government Spokesman" has denied them. I guess that denial is proof in the world of the cynic who is unable to look at information and sift fact from conjecture.
I don't know what caused the crash today. I know for certain I DON'T have enough factual information to even form a reasonable opinion. (Note: the key word is REASONABLE!)
I look at known, objective information which I believe most would accept as factual and add to that pile of info as it becomes available. So far, there is absolutely no, I say again, NO, evidence that the crash was anything but malfunction. Now, a person needs fact to whittle away at that supposition. What FACTS do we have to do so?
Darn little, if any. Let's look-
1) Crashed in Rockaway. Hmmm Normal takeoff route. But one of many.
2) Rockaway is home of Mike Moran. SO?
3) Some witnesses claim to have heard an explosion...Most do not!
4) This type of airplane is crashproof. BS. Not worthy of comment.
Add others and try to RATIONALLY draw conclusions based on FACT. Not some hypothetical desire to be the one that proves it was OBL beyond a reasonable doubt. You ain't gonna be a hero, chum.
Flame away tin hatters, I can take it. But until I see some viable arguments to prove a conspiracy/terrorist influence, I will believe that a mechanical malfunction was the cause for the loss of 255 + innocent lives.

Rokke gets more than a passing grade, he gets an A+; he's been tested and earned it right here. Not sure about you, however. ;-)

Why do you want to know where Lee's Woods are? Are you going to do some surveillance and track down those of us who don't subscribe to your paranoid-delusional beliefs? If so, you'd better have a large holding cell because you'll need to put about 99.99% of the world's population in there. But I guess that puts you in the elite, select few who know 'THE TRUTH.'

If the US Gov't can't keep its own people from leaking information, and they can barely keep top-secret info secret, how do you suppose that this far-flung, inefficient organization that doesn't have the resources to track illegals in our country or the bad guys overseas control the media and conduct all these fanciful conspiracy operations? As soon as you get more than one person involved in something, there will be leaks or some sort of breakdown. But of course your deep thinking can't account for such simple logic.

"...But for sh**s and giggles imagine if some of our current crop of posters were of this group. That would be a very sad statement on our goverments ability to hire anyone with cognitive reasoning skills above that of average."
You really are paranoid. To even think of something like this shows a definite disconnect from the big blue marble the rest of us call home. Sure, we'll never know the truth behind the JFK assasination and some other events, but that doesn't mean there is some vast gov't conspiracy involving every event and every facet of our society.

What the h*ll are you babbling about?
To: american spirit
Uh, the reply to which you replied, about the ineffiency of the Feds and how hard it is to conduct a conspiracy, was fairly plainly written, if not for a couple of long sentences. I'll try to use short words and simple sentence construction from now on.

All this discussion really boils down to is what's your belief system about events in this country. In other words, do you really believe that everything just happens by accident or are certain political, economic and military events orchestrated behind the scenes for an intended result? Just curious because it could may help us all understand some of these inane posts and based on what I've seen so far from you a simple response would be best.

Why do you want to know where Lee's Woods are?Boy!!! Talk about yer paranoia. In case your logic functions stopped at the end of daylight savings time, the explanation is truly a simple one. I am from Penn-sylvania. Anyplace with *sylvania* attached to its name catches my interest, including, of course, Tran-sylvania.
Are you going to do some surveillance and track down those of us who don't subscribe to your paranoid-delusional beliefs?
Paranoid-delusional. Would that be the definition of the question to which I am replying?
If so, you'd better have a large holding cell because you'll need to put about 99.99% of the world's population in there. But I guess that puts you in the elite, select few who know 'THE TRUTH.'
I seriously doubt my ability to lock up 99.99% of the world's population, but I have three rather large rivers and some damn deep strip mines here. Might work for the % who voted for the clinton gorbographer and his self-flagellating accomplice.
As for thruth, I keep looking. Maybe someday .....

If a poster had "had cognitive reasoning skills above that of average" then he or she would not make the statement : "but that doesn't mean there is some vast gov't conspiracy involving every event and every facet of our society". You obviously are not reading my posts or are unable understand them. You may be confused by this also since I did not "spell out" the disconnect in simple terms.

So, four years later, has this been resolved to anyone's satisfaction?

As it turns out, I have a very good friend who was part of the NTSB team which investigated the crash and reported last November. Their conclusion was that a spark in one of the fuel tanks was the cause.
I am still unconvinced. As more information about the circumstances came out, the coincidence of the navy training nearby causes me some concern.
That said, we must accept the conclusion of the NTSB since we have no way to get contrary data.

That's my opinion, I am unconvinced, but have nothing else to go on.
