"Islamism is fascism"

Daniel Pipes says leading American Muslim groups want Islamic law to rule the U.S. -- even if they won't admit it -- and must be carefully watched.

For Muslims in America, the rhetorical war of words continues to escalate at home. Two weeks after sparring publicly with Jewish advocacy groups over the accurate number of Muslims living in the U.S., the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Thursday issued a call to stop the "Islamophobic smear campaign" against the American Muslim community and its leaders. CAIR urged journalists and public officials not to "be used as unwitting tools in this campaign or to undermine President Bush's efforts to show that the war on terrorism is not a conflict with Islam."

CAIR angrily pointed to a recent Los Angeles Times article which reported, "Pro-Israel or Jewish organizations such as the Anti-Defamation League, the Jewish Defense League and the Middle East Forum think tank have provided news organizations with reams of critical documentation on Muslim leaders in recent weeks."

And the group singled out Middle East Forum's Daniel Pipes for special Scorn, calling Pipes "one of the foremost proponents of the current smear campaign," which has tied CAIR with Islamic radicalism and even violence.

In an interview with Salon, Pipes answers those charges, and warns that Muslims in America want Islamic law to rule the land.

The Kaaba in Mecca seems like pagan idol worship to me. They also say Mohammed picked Allah from the many pagan gods of the time. Allah got the luck of the draw!

*War_list Bump

I get asked all the time: “How do I get on this bump list?” Well the answer is you can’t! The FreeRepublic Master Bump List is not a list of people who get notified about a topic appearing on FreeRepublic but it is a list of topics that you can click on and have posts relevant to those topics displayed to you. There are many topics like “WOD_list” (War On Drugs) or “Homeschool_list” (Stories that Homeschoolers may be interested in) or “Homosexual Agenda” (A list of articles related to that topic). And they all appear on the The FreeRepublic Bump List

When you are reading an article you can add it to the list by posting a reply to that topic and in the “TO” box put the name of the list you want it to appear on preceded by an “*”. For example if you want the article to appear on the War on Drugs list then put “*WOD_list” in the “TO:” box instead of someones screen name. You can also put it on several lists by separating the list names with a simi-colon “;”. Then when you want to see the list go to The FreeRepublic Master Bump List and click on the link for that list.

Sense of duty. It's pretty bad. Muslims would say at this point that the beauty of the Arabic language is such that no translation, particularly into a latin/german/french hybrid like english, could possibly do it justice. Whatever.

One fun fact about The Koran : The influence of culture on literature is said to be very strong and entirely unconscious. As proof, "litcrits" point to the fact that there are no camels in the Koran, which is supposed to prove some profound thing or other about how we never even notice the mores of our own culture blah blah blah. But there are camels : The same dull story of a prophet and his she-camel (no, not THAT kind of story!) is told five times in essentially the same words.

Hopefully the present climate is such that these spurious claims of "Islamophobia" will not only be instantly rejected, but will serve to discredit such related spurious ideas as homophobia.

You must be joking. On another thead, I've got a bunch of people calling me all kinds of names because I dare to post articles which are critical of Islam.

"islamism" is FASCISM

And the every-bit-as-blasphemous and death-and-destruction-worshipping "'prophet' Hitler," needed look no further for the model for his "one thousand year reich," than to the one set in motion by Derr Fuerher Mohammed!

[And did not!]

In addition to fascist it's also marxist. Here's a quote from the Hamas charter.

What a wonderful tribe were the Ash'aris! When they were overtaxed, either in their location or during their journeys, they would collect all their possessions, and then would divide them equally among themselves.

You've read the Qu'ran three times? I love FreeRepublic, because how else could I meet such a wide variety of people? I hope it didn't 'sink in' too much...

"most cultures and religions, "organized" or not, do not, I believe, feel that threatened at the moment"

A, It is the ones that aren't "threatened", that engage in the "You must be of my faith or you surely will go to hell.", and then "help" folks on their way that bother me the most. But now, speaking of "threatened" bringing about fascist tactics, our government {culture?} seems to fit the bill right now. Peace and love, George.

I think most monotheistic religions, at least, have exclusivist tendencies. I'm a Catholic. I'm inclined to believe that salvation outside my church is difficult, at the least. In the absence of historical lessons, I might be inclined to use the power of the state to promote my religion, as Catholics in past centuries did. But I recognize that history teaches that such practices do a lot more harm than good, and I think members of most religions, including exclusivist ones, have learned this lesson from history and therefore avoid religious persecution. For whatever reason, the Islamists have refused to learn this lesson.

"The key to understanding any religious teaching is to read its scriptures."

OK, I agree. But, there are those who read {and interpret} passages in the Old Testament to say that those of darker skin color are lesser, and subject to slavery. Aroung the time of the fall of Babel. But, IMHO, when the Christ came, He, like our U.S. of A. Constitution brought equality as far as one's ability to believe and morality. He turned NONE away. Even when asked to by leaders and followers to do so. Peace and love, George.

A, IMHO, the reason is power. When the Christ was here he called it hypocritical for the leaders to demand things of, by way of limitation, their "flock" {my word because of lack}, while enjoying those same things. Petty or grand tyrants. Peace and love, George.

Reading the Koran "innoculates" the nonmuslim against Islam. At least, that was my experience. Unimpressive, to say the least.

CAIR and other assorted Islamic groups have consistently attacked Pipes for several years regarding the truth which he publishes concerning Islam. Pipes is on my list as a hero and a man who seeks the truth whatever the cost. Him, Emerson, and Bat Ye'or have revealed the facade and falsehoods of Islam and the contemporary menace Islam presents.

Pan Arab Islamic fascism. CAIR and other Islamic groups just hate it when Westerners start to reveal the lies and falsehoods historically and in contemporary contexts concerning Islam. The Islamic countries have either cleansed the Jews and Christians from their countries or they have intimidated the existing minority populations into silence. The dissenters from Islam are treated with the kind face of Islam by some local mullah issuing a fatwa against them or they are prosecuted for questioning Islamic doctrine such as in Pakistan or any other number of Islamic hell-holes.

It would not surprise me in the least if one day a fanatic tries to kill Prof. Pipes. I know Mr. Emerson takes very elaborate precautions to prevent his own murder by jihadists.

Yeah. I'm sure there are a few fatwas which have been pronounced somewhere against him.
