Time to quit blindly supporting the anemic GOP and start the hard work of creating a REAL alternative, vote for and work for the Constitution Party.

I just heard that Virginia taxes just went up, the real estate tax, and also capitol gains. Isn't that special?

You're confusing the issues.

Gilmore set the mandate... get rid of a tax. The GOP torpedoed that popular mandate. Then they anoint Earley. The voters said, "Up your's." At the same time, they voted for more conservatives in the legislature.

Tell me, how did Warner manage to appear more conservative than Earley? Because Earley isn't very conservative. If he was, Warner would not have been able to create that appearance.

Well Bush didn't want to help Earley.

Not that the liberals will give him any credit for 'bipartisanship' in a crisis.

I was responding to your comment that "if Gilmore had done what he promised..." He (Gilmore) would argue that he did.

Funny though, your sentence above outlines three factions within the GOP (there are more). But that points to one of the real reasons we lost. We can't have our family squabbles and get over it in time for the general election.

As you said, every four years, Virginia elects a new governor.

I know that I was, like many others, certainly not at all glad to find out that last night, pseudo-conservative Warner had in fact won. I expect that Governor Warner will take Gilmore's outstanding legacy and put it where only his over-inflated, publically pretentious ego permits it. Looking ahead, the true citizens of Virginia, who are the GOP's worthiest and best representatives, must protect interests that we share. Of these, I think the most important are state programs for education, emphasizing identification of systems that actually work! The kind which are composed of a clearly wrong ideology are those that never determine which student deserves encouragement and incentive to achieve and succeed.

Be vigilant; we are honored for our efforts.

Start planning now for 2002. In Maryland (where I live) there could be major battles brewing.

if we in Maryland somehow elect a Republican governor (and it could happen...Ehrlich will be strong if he runs and Kennedy-Townsend is an airhead with shaky support even on the Dem side)...

I'm just afraid that if Ehrlich runs, the same forces that came out against Sauerbrey will reemerge to tar him as "too conservative for Maryland" again. It'd be easy to unite behind a Kennedy to fight the forces of conservatism.

What could really hurt Kennedy-Townsend is a primary fight, against Martin O'Malley or Wayne Curry. Curry could be a real problem, pulling black voter support from Kennedy. She'd have to try and beat him without alienating black voters she would have to have to win the governorship.

Yes indeed. We have some new boys in the legislature. The one representing me is going to get as much input from me and my neighbors as he can handle. Spending has to be cut. There's no reason on God's green earth that a state government needs to be into all the things that ours is into. Local initiatives on property tax has to come first, but all these ridiculous taxes have to be cut or abolished.

You can't have a Commonwealth when there's no wealth held by the commoners.

"It's obvious President Bush wanted Warner to win. They are both from Connecticut, both know each other, and their parents lived near eachother and visited the same club."

LOL...yeah, you MUST be right after considering all that compelling evidence. SHEEEESH!!

"Yep, boy did you conservatives get hoodwinked by Bush and the New Republican GOP..."

If only we'd have been smart enuff to nominate a true patriot like Patrick J. Buchanan...LOL!!!!

BTW...my primary candidate--Steve Forbes--wouldda campaigned fer both Schundler and Earley!!

I try to look at the state of our union as objectively as possible, and I see no way for the country to continue on its current path and be able to resemble the great nation that it was for so very long

It's very true that we are on a slippery slope and that we will end up something quite different in 50 years than we are today.

The good news is that there isn't any other nation that can take our place as the greatest nation on Earth.

It's actually up to the current generation to correct the misdeeds of the past and make sure things are better for our children.

The 70's crowd has done their damage, when it comes to morality there's no where to go but up.

Hard to figure just where it's all headed, provided the events of Revelation haven't taken place within the next fifty years. I think I need to pray harder. :)

Ditto that. Please add me to your Virginia ping list if you have one. I want to unravel the coverups of Virginia democratics. And I want to be on top of every idiot thing they say. Freegards....

Allright, Arthur. I guess I'll have to start a ping list. Let's burn 'em down.
