-- snip --`Giuliani envy'
Political experts suggested Davis may have fallen into the trap of a politician who wants both to reassure the public and demonstrate his own leadership. They noted that polls have shown Davis trailing former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan, his leading Republican challenger.
``Without sounding too critical, Gray Davis may have just a little bit of Giuliani envy,'' said Schnur, a former Riordan adviser, referring to the New York mayor who has won wide praise for his response to the World Trade Center attacks.
``Certainly he would never wish any kind of misfortune on California,'' Schnur said of Davis. ``But that decision to go public may have been influenced by watching other elected officials handling their turn in the spotlight in the last several weeks.''
Some critics noted that it's not the first time Davis has made a startling announcement since Sept. 11. A few weeks after the attacks, he told reporters that passengers on a commercial airliner had subdued a would-be hijacker at Los Angeles International Airport. He later conceded that he'd been given incorrect information about an incident involving an unruly passenger.
But if there is an attack on a California bridge, even his critics acknowledged, Davis will appear to have done the right thing. If there is no attack, Sabato predicted, the incident will be soon forgotten.

Grey Davis is just the latest addition to the rogues gallery of left-leaners seeking to exploit whatever they can to get some face time.
Trouble is, in the People's Republic of California, practically everyone is on the state payroll in one way or another.
The point is this: Governor Davis got some bad intel on bridges, paniced, jumped through his butt and scared the krep out of most Californians in the process. It is time to be QUIETLY watchful, not go ape-sh*t over every rumor.
Every civilian needs to remember that there are no civilians in this fight! We are all targets for OBL, and rumors and panic are our enemies. Remember movie "1942?"
We need to cut down on the bad poop rumors, keep our eyes and ears open, make reasoned decisions and take the proper action (includung dropping the dime) after making a smart, not paniced, threat analysis.
Many FReepers are former military and vast majority have our cranial cavities screwed on tight. We can be a help, or we can be rumormongers.
Let's show the REMFs what focussed citizenry can do.

It seems to be the nature of Governor Davis to give in to panic and lose control. That is why he contracted for long term contracts for electricity at huge prices for a very short term problem. The taxpayers of Kalifornia will be paying for his panic for years. He is clearly not fit to be an executive of anything, much less a large state.

Red Davis has a small fraction of the moral and intellectual stature of a half-starved weasel in heat.

Governor Clueless suffers from 'poll flacidity' and Dosomthing Desease! The shameful "I, Chicken Little, am in charge here!" routine of Thursday is only surpassed by the "I, Mr. Wizard, am in charge here!" bit he used during our energy crisis (of his making!). If Grayout Davis is in charge of Kalifornia's security we might as well learn to play Taps...we're all gonna DIE!

My worst fear is this...The Bureau provided info strictly for the use of law enforcement and emergency management personnel. Surely they would not have provided such info, had it not come from a reasonably reliable source. The fact that Davis went public with it probably compromised the source of the info, and that may have been one of the very few sources we have been able to cultivate amongst the terros already in our midst.

BIMP.
You too, my friend =^)
Then we left. heh heh
He is such a. . .oops! My Momma told me not to talk like that or she'd wash my mouth out with soap! ;-)
Sheesh, I haven't heard that one since I was a kid. It dates from WW II, doesn't it?
The problem with comparing him to Inspector Cleuseau (sp?) is that even with all his bumbling efforts, the Inspector solved the crimes....
1. This is exactly why the FBI does not want to share its data with certain governors and mayors! Sharing data with Facist Davis would be like if Elliot Ness shared data with the criminal mayors, cops and Chicago local politicians. Now that source for the info has been compromised thanks to Davis violating the confidentiality of the data!
2. I heard Riordian (sp) on 1530 am Sacramento last night doing a live interview. He hammered Davis and his Sacramento fellow facists in the legislature for totally failing to do what is right in any situation. He said that Davis and the clowns in Sacramento have created an anti business atmosphere which is driving business out of California. He bashed Davis for his total lack of working to improve our infrastructure of the state. Of course Davis and the envirals like Club Sierra have been screwing Californias with no real infrastructure improvements since MoonBeam started the era of limits. That was the main ingredient to our power crisis. No new power plants as per the enviral nazis who control Davis!
I'm not for Riordian (sp). He will be #3 for me. I would vote for road kill to keep Davis out of office again. However, Riordian was clear and concise, and he hammered Facist Davis!
Thanks for the flag, RD.
