Right ON!

One of the more entertaining WS's, start to finish.

Congrats to one of the best 1-2 punches a pitching rotation ever had: Schilling and Johnson, and to the rest of the team.

The reason Torre didn't have Williams bunt (a guess of course) is that he's the cleanup hitter, and supposed to be able to power home runners, not bunt them along bases. And going with Rivera is Torre's standard operating procedure in big games. He's said it many times, Rivera is his closer, and they'll live or die with him.

BTW, Soriano is a rookie, and brought up from the Columbus Clippers one year early to take Knoblauch's place. In a year without Ichiro, he'd be the hands down Rookie of the Year.

And Rudy G. owes the good Senator John McC a horse! (On FOX News, he said that if the Snakes won, old Ridy would pony up a horse for his ranch... Hope they use it to give handicapped kids riding lessons, etc. so that the warm fuzzies are spread around to those who need them most!)

Hillary, a lifelong Yanks fan, will be throwing dishes tonight. Or maybe yelling at some poor FJB. Or maybe swearing her lungs out. Or maybe rolling her eyeballs. Or maybe calling the D-backs murderers. Or maybe spitting on the D-backs. Or maybe having sex with another lesbian. Or maybe planning to dump a D-back's body in a park.

Whew! The unbound creative mind. ;^)

Yeah, OK! I just get a kick out of seeing someone posting the word "Dynasty" and associating with the D-backs. Its pretty funny. For us Yankee fans, we know the meaning of Dynasty. The Yankees have won as many Championships in the last 5 years as the D-backs have been in operation.

The D-backs win will go down in the books as a great series, but soon forgotten. Why? Because there won't be a dynasty in Arizona. The Yanks will be back again next year.

The Yanks will be back next year, and win championships for many years to come. Look at the talent in the farm system; Nick Johnson, Drew Henson. A system that has produced Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Alfonso Soriano, Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettite, Ramiro Mendoza.

The secret to the Yankee dynasty has always been homegrown talent, and smart trades, and recently that onekey signing, like Clemens or Mussina.

Nice to see Mark Grace win a World Sersis finally.

How about Mike Morgan. 23 seasons and twelve teams if I'm not mistaken.

Couldn't have said it better. And as one who twice voted against Safeco Field, which we got only because the Washington State legislature declared *an emergency*, it does my heart good to see Mariner cast-off Randy Johnson be co-winner of the MVP, and also on the winning team! If Ichiro can't win, I'm glad the Big Unit did.

The D-Backs played the greatest game in World Series history last night. No team has ever had bats like that. So I was feeling pretty good tonight, even with NY going up by 1. Then I saw Mariano Rivera take the mound...I had forgotten the Yankees had this game killer...that sinking feeling. Then the Arizona bats came alive again. And it wouldn't be a clutch inning for NY if Jeter didn't pull a Hail Mary stunt like that one at second base. He always fakes injury when the team's in a jam -and it always works! The D-Backs runner could easily have made it to third base if he hadn't been concerned about Jeter face down in the dirt. Jeter is the most cunning athlete in the game and that's not really a compliment.

This was the best World Series in years. The Diamond Backs were the clear superior this year. They made only one mistake. Schilling or Johnson should have said "Go USA!" For me, this series was a punch in the nose to anyone who would seek to harm our country and its people. Yeah, in your face, Osama!

Lemme get this straight...you're calling him an idiot because he didn't do what YOU wanted him to do, even though what he did instead brought them the World Championship?

I had no problem with Brenly before this series started, in fact I believed he had done a magnificent job in getting the D-Backs to the WS. But I lost all respect for him in this series when he started being a horrible manager. I would not have criticized him if he had made the moves that I thought should be made. And that is my perogative to do so, and yours as well.

Do you think you could have managed the the Diamondbacks to the World Series -- you know, the previous 172 (or so) games?

Nope I dont think I could, and I never siad I could. But stil doesn't mean I can't criticize him for horriblw play calling.

That's far from guaranteed. The Yanks were only the 3rd best team...in the AL...this year. I think it was probably the same last year. It's not a given that these teams will keep on laying down for the Yanks, year in and year out.

The Snakes aren't a dynasty, but there aren't any juggernauts in the NL, either. They have probably a better chance to be back than the Yanks, though I would hope another NL West team would step up...cough cough **dodgers** cough...

YANKEE FANS DEMAND A RECOUNT!!!

I wouldn't recommend that, because then we would have to Up Arizona's score last night to include Bautista's run when he was wrongly called out at the plate in the third after being tagged with an empty glove.

that would make it 16-2 or 38-14 for the series, whose counting...:-)

dback fans, this was a gift.

Yeah right!, Sometime you must tell me how your wonderful team managed to restrain itself from hitting the ball so well for so long. Hell they didn't even get a runner to second base until game 5 when the D'backs had a 15 run ( count em, that's 15) lead...

Yankee generosity knows no bounds.....
