I Finally Made The Switch (To Republican)

Well, after many, many years as a closet Republican (you know, registered Democrat, but mostly voting Republican), I finally made the switch!

I was walking around our annual Street Faire and came across the Republican Women's booth, and filled out the paperwork to switch parties. I was in good company, the woman volunteering at the booth said they had already had over a hundred others switching from Democrat to Republican at her booth today!!!

IMO, most ex-Democrats make the best Repubbies. They KNOW why they switched.

One way to let people know you're not a newby is do what others have done - change your handle but add a disclaimer - showing your old handle and original date of "entry" into FR. However, I like your handle as it is.

I'm not always sure how far to go in disagreeing with their Demo' positions. My sister in particular drinks
heavily from the Democrat koolade. She can't really back up a lot of her positions and I think that just
angers her.

It's not easy being a Republican...

To have a black wife who is more conservative than you, and then be accused of being a racist because you vote Republican.

To have to listen to all the facts, and then with logic and reasoning come to a different conclusion than the mainstream media.

To be accused of mean spiritness (sp) and fundalmentalism when you attend church on Sunday (right next to your liberal friend).

To be labeled part of a "vast right-wing conspiracy" when you can't find one to join.
