An embargo is a total refusal to trade and is generally imposed on an individual country in the form of sanctions. It usually has to be imposed by a coalition of countries as was the case in South Africa. A protective tariff on oil from outside of Nafta would be more feasible and could be imposed by an act of Congress. The arabs might object to the WTO as Canada is doing in the case of softwood lumber tariffs. The irony of this is that Canada is an ally which we are supposed to have free trade with and lumber imports are hardly a threat to security; while arab oil dependency does compromise security, yet Bush has just imposed a 30% tariff on Canadian lumber. Why not impose a 30% tariff on Arab oil? I would also expand Nafta to include Britain and Ireland.

What planet does this guy come from? How about Iraq attacking Iran, and Iraq attacking Kuwait and Saudi Arabia in the last 20 years. Earlier we have Muslim conquests of Egypt (640 A.D.), conquest of Turkey and fall of Constantinople (1453 A.D.), conquest of Spain and invasion of France, invasions of the Balkans, etc. etc. Muslims have attacked neighboring nations for hundreds of years.

Bush hasn't even noticed Egypt yet. I doubt he even bothered to look at Egypt on a map since being president. He's been a little busy.

In fact, we have been tossing billions into their tin cup. But, considering what this nut-bar said, CUT OFF AIDE TO EGYPT. And if they kill anyone, they would be a nice target-rich enemy with nowhere to hide. Lots of sand. Lots of open terrain. And if they flee to the Pyramids, we drop a few bunker busters. No problem.

Why is it that all of these Cleric's can declare war against the US, then expect that we can not bomb their Mosques and holy lands. Do they believe war is a one way street, where only they have the right to kill their enemies?
