So, did Beatrix Potter turn kids into talking rabbits?

I've read this topic posted by others before and in all seriousness I'm interested to know how you feel about Shakespeare's Macbeth?

"Harry Potter Books teach Witchcraft to Children ..."

No they don't. I'm sorry, the author is mistaken on this point.

don't you know that broomsticks are a phallic symbol for pre-teen wicca sex? Blasphemer!

And I used dress up in a black bin liner, carry a broom, and wear a funny hat as a kid at Halloween. Was that practicing Wicca? Or just plain old childhood fun?

Any book that encourages a child to read has gotta be good!

The books are good fun and have done more to get kids reading than all the billions of $ thrown at the failing education system. I have read all four of the books and I disagree that they are teaching witchcraft. They are good stories with the theme of good triumphing over evil. Harry Potter has strong values of honor, loyalty and courage, value more kids should learn. Does "The Wizard of Oz" also teach witchcraft?

I believe it is like a canyon being formed by one drop of water at a time..or like the water with the frog in it slowly being brought to a boil..

I would not but these books as gifts or go to the movies

I thought it was just science fiction? When I was a kid we had Star Wars, The Smurfs, Transformers, HeMan, The Hulk, The Wizard of Oz...........

I never believed any of it, but did enjoy it as entertainment. It never swayed my belief in God.

Baloney.

But J.K. Rowling IS overrated, IMHO. Roald Dahl she's not.

Pure cr*p. So...no more Grimm's Fairy Tales (all magic, no Christianity); forget watching Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer's apprentice; no more King Arthur (Christian but with a magician); no more Disney animated stories...very magical but no religion. You're an idiot.

The wizard of OZ was satan's gift. It took a popular medium (movies) and made it more popular by introducing color. Now our kids are on Ritalin and having sex. I blame Toto....Blasphemer!
