The books are good fun and have done more to get kids reading than all the billions of $ thrown at the failing education system. I have read all four of the books and I disagree that they are teaching witchcraft. They are good stories with the theme of good triumphing over evil. Harry Potter has strong values of honor, loyalty and courage, value more kids should learn. Does "The Wizard of Oz" also teach witchcraft?

The wizard of OZ was satan's gift. It took a popular medium (movies) and made it more popular by introducing color. Now our kids are on Ritalin and having sex. I blame Toto....Blasphemer!

Don't you know it's better that kids don't read if it's that worldly stuff like Horny Potter! Besides the Monkey Wards catalog (which works great in the outhouse, too), the only books kids need to read are the Koran, opps I mean Bible, and the Farmer's Almanac. No telling what weird notions the young'uns'll get if you let 'em read The Saturday Evening Post and The American Mercury! Blasphemy! They'll soon be playing Pool! And sneaking down to the dance at the armory... Libertine Men, Scarlet Women! Ragtime! Oh, we got trouble my friends....

Or as Yogi Yorgesson put it:

I'm just a happy Nincompoop, a Nincompoop, a Jolly Nincompoop
Smart people worry when the day is done
but Nincompoops have all the fun!
