E.J. Montini is a left wing Clymer, but--horror of horrors--I agree with his column for the first time in my life. (Time to shower and burn my clothes....)
Go ahead and flame away, Yankee fans!!! I can take it. And I'll be at BOB on Saturday, watching Randy Johnson mop the floor with a New Yawk mop head.
Go Diamondbacks!!!! LOLOLOLOL!!
Signed,
Heartbroken But Undeterred Diamondback Fan

I still can't believe Brenly lifted Schilling. I'll never know what he was thinking with that move, which IMHO will cost the D-Backs the Series.
To: RooRoobird14
Look, I was a Yankee fan most of my life when I lived back there..so I can be honest...
How many times did they show the Yankee homeruns?...several times each..and how many times did they show the D's HR?...maybe twice.
the one-sided reporting is on the verge of being obscene..
GO DIAMONDBACKS.......and then refuse the duffuses in the TV box any interviews..

The frustration mounts. I love it.

It kills me to say this as a Red Sox fan but, GO YANKEES!

...will cost the D-backs the series...Heh heh heh. With any luck. I'm just sad they won't be in the Big Apple to clinch it.

Don't know about Tim McCarver (other than my memories as a pre-teen in the 60's when he caught for the World Champion and three-time pennant-winning
ST. LOUIS CARDINALS), but Joe Buck is the current
ST. LOUIS CARDINALS lead announcer (and therefore recently "somewhat" familiar with Arizona), a personal acquaintance, graduate of the same High School I attended, son of the Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Jack Buck (the previous
ST. LOUIS CARDINALS lead announcer and now in semi-retirement) and, taking into account all of the above, I can attest to his total professionalism and absolute lack of bias.
Maybe the producer of the show instructed Joe and Tim what to say, but don't blame them for that.

It may have cost us the series, but I do understand why he did it. Yanks got some knocks on Schilling in the 7th and maybe Brenley thought that if he left Schilling in, the Yanks would knock him around some more in the 8th. If Brenley had left Schilling in and he coughed up runs to the Yanks, the detractors would have said, what do you expect from a guy pitching on only 3 days rest. In hindsight, Brenley probably should have let him start the 8th and then only took him out if he got into trouble.
As a Die-hard D-backs fan (I know, is that possible for a team that's only 4 years old) I'm still root, root, rooting for the Snakes, but it's obvious they've got a tougher road to travel now...
GO D-BACKS!!!!

Funny article, Roo Roo. I was the lone Diamondback fan last night in a house full of cheering Yankee fans, so I know how it feels to be an underdog! LOL!
GO DIAMONDBACKS!

If it was me (I know, I know, hindsight is 20/20), I would've given Schilling the ball and said, "You're in there 'til a man reaches. If someone gets aboard I'm going with Kim." I just think a competitor as great as Schilling deserves a chance to win it.
To: RooRoobird14
This is too funny!!! That is exactly how them thar downstaters treat us upstaters!!! LOL! Sorry but.... GO YANKS!!!!!!
To: Irma
Anybody but the Yankees; they've already won it a million times. Let someone else win it for once.....

Dear Heartbroken, The "ditto" family is also heartbroken and shares your pain! We set up a projection TV screen on our garage door last night and watched the game along with neighbors, friends and trick or treaters. I am still hoarse from cheering when the D-backs went ahead. And I think we'll all be holding our breath alot during tonight's game.
GO D-BACKS!!!
P.S. - to all D-Backs fans, the link below takes you to a "Beat the Yankees" poster you can download and print...

DAMN YANKEES! Can't believe D-backs lost last night's game. I think maybe congress passed a law making it mandatory the Yanks win the world series again this year.

Can't argue about the media bias. Arizona fans didn't help their cause by not bothering to show up for NLDS, though. The Rockies are putrid but that never would have happened in Colorado, I assure you.
To: Irma
Sheesh, Irma--you went to Yankee stadium and rooted for the Snakes? You have more guts than I do!!!
I hear those Yankee fans do rude things like throw beer on the opposing team fans, call them names, curse them, etc. (and that's when they're being nice--LOLOLOLOL!)
To: NittanyLion
I just think a competitor as great as Schilling deserves a chance to win it. I think you're right. Schilling prepared himself to pitch this game on short rest. Although I know Kim felt terrible out there on the mound, when they would show Schilling sitting there in the dugout I could only think about how tough it must have been for him to keep himself together. Schilling is a helluva decent guy and a great athlete.

Let see...you're upset about back-to-back losses at Yankee Stadium so you're blaming the announcers.
The game's on the field. It's a good series. Appreciate that.
