E.J. Montini is a left wing Clymer, but--horror of horrors--I agree with his column for the first time in my life. (Time to shower and burn my clothes....)

Go ahead and flame away, Yankee fans!!! I can take it. And I'll be at BOB on Saturday, watching Randy Johnson mop the floor with a New Yawk mop head.

Go Diamondbacks!!!! LOLOLOLOL!!

Signed,

Heartbroken But Undeterred Diamondback Fan

I still can't believe Brenly lifted Schilling. I'll never know what he was thinking with that move, which IMHO will cost the D-Backs the Series.

Look, I was a Yankee fan most of my life when I lived back there..so I can be honest...

How many times did they show the Yankee homeruns?...several times each..and how many times did they show the D's HR?...maybe twice.

the one-sided reporting is on the verge of being obscene..

GO DIAMONDBACKS.......and then refuse the duffuses in the TV box any interviews..

Don't know about Tim McCarver (other than my memories as a pre-teen in the 60's when he caught for the World Champion and three-time pennant-winning ST. LOUIS CARDINALS), but Joe Buck is the current ST. LOUIS CARDINALS lead announcer (and therefore recently "somewhat" familiar with Arizona), a personal acquaintance, graduate of the same High School I attended, son of the Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Jack Buck (the previous ST. LOUIS CARDINALS lead announcer and now in semi-retirement) and, taking into account all of the above, I can attest to his total professionalism and absolute lack of bias.

Maybe the producer of the show instructed Joe and Tim what to say, but don't blame them for that.

Funny article, Roo Roo. I was the lone Diamondback fan last night in a house full of cheering Yankee fans, so I know how it feels to be an underdog! LOL!

GO DIAMONDBACKS!

Dear Heartbroken,

The "ditto" family is also heartbroken and shares your pain! We set up a projection TV screen on our garage door last night and watched the game along with neighbors, friends and trick or treaters. I am still hoarse from cheering when the D-backs went ahead. And I think we'll all be holding our breath alot during tonight's game.

GO D-BACKS!!!

P.S. - to all D-Backs fans, the link below takes you to a "Beat the Yankees" poster you can download and print...

DAMN YANKEES! Can't believe D-backs lost last night's game. I think maybe congress passed a law making it mandatory the Yanks win the world series again this year.

Can't argue about the media bias. Arizona fans didn't help their cause by not bothering to show up for NLDS, though. The Rockies are putrid but that never would have happened in Colorado, I assure you.

Let see...you're upset about back-to-back losses at Yankee Stadium so you're blaming the announcers.

The game's on the field. It's a good series. Appreciate that.

One of the top games I've ever watched. Brenly taking out Schilling, then leaving Kim in after he had clearly lost it, rank up there with the great Series brainlocks. Kim left it all in the 8th inning, blowing out his strength when he struck out the side. Real rookie mistake. Look on his face after each of the home runs was priceless.

This Montini feller, he get out much? Doesn't sound like it. Want to eat some crow with that whine?

I am not a D-backs fan because they are the thorn in the Giants' side, but my goodness, I want them to win. I wouldn't mind as much if it was only that the Yankees are good, I can't take all the New York homerism! I already had to endure the Los Angeles homeboys at the networks and in showbiz after the Lakers ran over the rest of the NBA in the playoffs, and now this! IMHO, It's only slightly worse after the terrorist attacks on NY than it would have been otherwise -- or do you hear about Michael Jordan being a force for healing the wounds of Washington after the attack on the Pentagon?

I couldn't believe that Kevin Kennedy, who was a major league manager as recently as three years ago, asked Derek Jeter about "Yankee Mystique"! If anyone should know better than to peddle that crapola, it should be a guy who actually has run a ball club!

And who is the sub-genius at Fox who decided to always have a camera on Derek Jeter? The sucker not only wasn't pulling his weight in the Series until last night, he wasn't even hitting it, but every time a Yank hit the ball out of the yard, drove in a run with a base hit, sacrifice flied, or was safe at home on an error, there was the inevitable Fox replay of Derek Jeter's Official Facial Response To The Yankees Scoring like his reaction from the dugout meant jack squat!

Next to a championship that is decided by a vote rather an a tournament -- the reason why I refuse to acknowledge the existence of Division 1-A college football until they have a legitimate playoff system -- nothing takes the fun out of sports more than people who rush to be the first to tell us that a team can't be beat -- even when it turns out to be true. Shut Ya Stuff Up!

I think he's just picking fights. Every world series the Yanks appear in the broadcasters spend time talking about the history of the stadium. Just like how every Stanley Cup they spend time talking about the history of The Cup. Why? Because they know there's a chunk of society that only watches these games, that there are people tuning into the sport for the first time and have no knowledge of this stuff. And let's face it, you ain't getting into any discussions on the glorious history of baseball in the BOB.

Also recall they said every park should have a pool, didn't sound like bad mouthing to me, sounded more like they thought that was one of the most bizaarly brilliant ideas they'd ever seen. Part of the very interesting contrast in this series. On one side we have the Yanks, one of the oldest and clearly the most successful franchise in baseball, and on the other side the D-Back a franchise so new the shine hasn't worn off of anything in their park, and one that is currently on track to be a very successful franchise (World Series in 4 years, and not a rental job like the accursed Marlins).

Everything about these clubs is the opposite: sides of the country, politics of the city, weather, age, history, style of ball park. Everything except that they both have good pitching, weak offense and, oh yeah, they're in the World Series together. They should talk about that. In a game that moves as slowly as baseball you've got to put in a lot of filler banter. And this series has a lot of filler banter bait. But if anybody is thinking that's condescending I think you need to get your ears checked. They might be a little in awe of the Yanks, but it's hard not to be in awe of the championship winningest franchise in north American sports history, that's playing in an ancient stadium, that actually doesn't suck (so many places get "old stadium syndrome" at 1/3 the age of that park, it's really quite impressive that it's so cool).
