Why do you seem so amazed at the difference in prices between IN and MI? Since you live there, you know that MI has much higher gas taxes than IN does - that accounts for the difference. MI also has deposits required on bottles and cans, IN doesn't. MI also has much steeper cigarette taxes than IN. However, MI has lower property taxes and no excise taxes on vehicles. You have the best of both worlds - you live in MI and can shop and buy gas in IN. Enjoy it!

Good morning BIOMAN,
Ok, I have a really bizarre tin-foil hat kind of question. What would stop terrorists from turning a gas station into a bomb? Couldn't they ignite the gas reserves and really set a blaze.
Forgive the freakish speculation, but I had this nightmare last night that 7-11's all across the US were on fire.
I know, I know . . . lay off the latte!! :o)

It is about 9.82 SEK per liter.

$3.51 in Frankfurt Germany. That's with a very favorable Dollar rate though. At historical US/DEM exchange rates it's easily over $4.00 per gallon.

Why do you seem so amazed at the difference in prices between IN and MI? Even within the state of Indiana there are significant differences. In Bloomington the cost is about $1.12 and in the adjoining city of Elletsville you can get gas for $0.99.
