Why do you seem so amazed at the difference in prices between IN and MI? Since you live there, you know that MI has much higher gas taxes than IN does - that accounts for the difference. MI also has deposits required on bottles and cans, IN doesn't. MI also has much steeper cigarette taxes than IN. However, MI has lower property taxes and no excise taxes on vehicles. You have the best of both worlds - you live in MI and can shop and buy gas in IN. Enjoy it!

Why do you seem so amazed at the difference in prices between IN and MI? Even within the state of Indiana there are significant differences. In Bloomington the cost is about $1.12 and in the adjoining city of Elletsville you can get gas for $0.99.
