True story:
When I was on Operation Joint Endeavor we got lots of these letters. One seven year old kid wrote to tell us about himself and his elementary school class. He closed the letter by asking,
"So, have you popped a cap in anybody?"

I think the first CARE package is going out this Wednesday. HLL is spearheading an effort to get stuffed "stockings" ready to send to the troops for Christmas. My boys are doing one each and artwork will certainly be a part of them!
The thing is, you can still help with this package today if you want. . .I don't know how HLL is doing on postage, but I gave a little donation to her paypal account to help cover the cost. If she doesn't use it this time, I'm sure she will for the "Christmas Barrel".
Heads UP, Homeschooling Freepers!

Bump for KIDS!!! :-)
I bought Lee Greenwood's album with the patriotic songs on it..my kids LOVE IT!! On the way to school, they beg me to play, "The Pledge of Allegiance"...where the kids say it at the beginning and then he sings about it...and then he talks about it. My boys are 5 and 7. Their new favorite song is the "Battle Hymn of the Republic". They have been practicing to put on a "show" for my family when we go up there for Thanksgiving. Last night, they did the "Pledge of Allegiance" and "Battle Hymn of the Republic". Michael (the 7-year old) made a drum out of a coffee can and strapped it to his waist, and Mark pretended to be a "soldier" marching. It brought tears to my eyes. I wish you could see them, HLL. You would be so proud. :-)

What a great way to begin a day! Thank you for your work on behalf of our military; you're doing a great service that I can guarantee will be very appreciated.
Big Bump!
To: 2Jedismom
It's called, "American Patriot". I bought mine at Walgreen's, but I'm sure you can find it anywhere. It's great....your two Jedis will love it. And let me warn you: when you
hear the Battle Hymn of the Republic, it will turn your blood to
fire. It makes you want to go out and kick some
bootie!!! ;-)
Oh yeah, and since we live in the South, and my sons are "Southerners", I am also teaching them "Dixie", which is also on this CD. *grins*

Those are wonderful! How terrific to see what the kids are sending.

If you would like to get involved please have your children draw pictures and write letters and make Christmas stockings and get them to me by Thanksgiving. I will include them in our Christmas boxes.
