Oh, those will be out any day now. Yes, Maureen Dowd and Peter Jennings will definitely come out and say they were wrong to immediately start attacking the President as their first instinctive response on September 11.

No, Dowd and Jennings won't apologize; they'll call up ELF to organize a protest at the White House because the President was hiding behind a "grove of trees."

I am not part of the Dowd crowd. I criticized GWB that day, and I stand by it. At 11:00 AM the only planes in the air were military cover. There were no others. The White House was the safest place in the nation. I presume that GWB let the panicked SS dictate his moves, but that was a bad decision. In retrospect and after his subsequent performance, it is no big deal, but to me it communicated confusion and hysteria.
