Military Helo flying low over I-15 in Vegas (my title)
Co-worker
Posted on 10/24/2001 4:09:19 PM PDT by sungod
A co-worker just called me to say that he was watching an American Military Helicopter flying 100 Feet above Interstate 15 in Las Vegas. He said it popped out from behind the Bellagio Hotel/Casino, then flew over 15, then following the exit to I-95. He said all the cars were breaking to see what was going on. This is a confirmed sighting by a friend/co-worker. I will try to get more details.
I-15 is the major freeway here in Vegas. This time of day it is a traffic mess like any major city is. 95 is also a major freeway.
It may be nothing, but I think we can all admit that this isn't standard military practice.

Is that supposed to be some kind of joke? This type of thing never happens here. It was a green military helicopter. It was only 100 feet off the deck over both freeways. He called me from his cell phone as he was seeing it. I said it might be nothing, but it is odd anyway you look at it. It could have (and might have) caused an accident.

No, it would not have caused an accident flying at 100 feet (unless someone is driving around in a 101-foot high vehicle).
The idiots deciding to stare at him when they should be paying attention to traffic would have caused the accident.

The only thing I can think of that would cause them to follow the freeway would be following a vehicle. Who knows?
This is the last time I post anything here.

Better a military copter than the usual in Vegas. Cops are very aggressive in their use. Going after kids parking in the desert, buzzing RV parks. Friend of mine was in financial trouble and had tag sales at her house once or twice a month to make ends meet. That stopped when, one day, she is out in her drive way selling stuff and a police chopper circled above and called in ground forces to shut her down.
If there is anything good which will come out of this it is that the authorities will stop the BS with law abiding citizens and start going after the real threats.

No, did someone do so to yours?
Sheesh, if you can't take a little funnin', maybe you need to go to Lucianne.com, the hangout for really uptight conservatives.

Ah, don't worry about it. We've just been chasing too many scarey tips lately, most of which turn out to be nothing, or hoaxes.

Dang flying saucer!
Those little green men need to watch it! Aggravating!
The grays are much better flyers.
