"I so very much appreciate all the kind thoughts and good wishes expressed by the Free Republic readers.
Barbara was a great fan of Free Republic.
The knowledge of how much Barbara was loved and admired has been my chief consolation in these difficult days.
Sincerely,
Theodore B. Olson"
Even with all that has happened, the thought that most quickly brings tears to my eyes is to think about Barbara and what you must be going through. She was wonderful and I enjoyed her so much - she really knew how to make liberals look silly - and she always did it with a smile.
You love her and always will. You also defended a man I suspect you love, as well. Barbara Olson and President George W. Bush have something in common: they are both people of integrity, honesty, good cheer, backbone, and conviction. You have served them both well. God bless you, Sir.
Ted, all my best.
Also it is an honor to have you deliver this message. I hear you often on KTSA here in San Antonio usually on with Carl Wiglesworth and always enjoy when you are on.
No matter how great our loss, it pales in comparison to what her husband is experiencing. May God comfort Ted Olsen and grant him the strength to persevere.
May Barbara's new book stand as a legacy to her integrity and decency, while it exposes the moral depravity that has infested our country. While her life was short, her list of accomplishments are not.
God bless you and yours.
I believe God blessed our country with Ted Olson. I was awed at his knowledge of Constitutional Law during the election. We are so blessed to have a man with such intelligence and wisdom.
My prayers are with you Ted!!
Ted, actually, Mr. Olson, if you cruise by here, please know that hundreds if not thousands here relished in Barbara's intense defense of our constitution. She has a zest and humor that only served to make her opinions readily acceptable and, ya know, she had a wisdom born not only of study, but of CARING! I miss her, too. I always made it a point to watch any program she lent herself to-including that last visit to CSPAN where I almost felt as if I might throw my coffee at the tube-remember that nutcase caller? Oh the joys of CSPAN! And remember how beautifully Barbara fielded that nut's comments? I could not believe that ANYONE could see Barbara as evil. What a turned around upside-down world we all inhabit.
We understand how it hurts to lose your partner, and accept our sympathy, which is so real, and our deep respect.
We love where you sit, and count on you to maintain the high, no spin, no smooze, direct, decent defence of our rule of law that Barbara made her life.
I cannot WAIT to read 'The Final Days', but will have to be in the right frame of mind to do so as I am still reeling from the assualt the Clinton era led against our rule of law as well as the SPIRIT of our laws. But thank you SO MUCH for deciding to go ahead and publish her book. That was terrific.
God Bless You, deeply, and may joyous, favorite, wonderful memories crowd out your hurt, and lighten your heart!
Lynn AKA Republic
Barbara Olson was a wonderful spokeswoman for Conservatives. I always looked forward to seeing her on the newstalk shows, and her presence is greatly missed. There is a void now on those shows that cannot be filled.
Sad as it is, Barbara's death, like all those that turning-point morning; will be etched forever in American consciousness; and the world-at-large. They paid a huge price, but they will forever be remembered and appreciated; and that is good.
