(Bill) Clinton urges end to global inequalities after war

PRAGUE, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Bill Clinton said on Monday the United States and its allies had to win the war against terrorism but in the long run the West also had to bring an end to global inequalities.

Speaking at a human rights conference in the Czech capital, Clinton repeated his support for his successor George W. Bush, and the action taken following last month's suicide attacks on the United States.

"At the moment we have to win the fight we are in, but over the long run we have to spread the benefits and shrink the burdens of this new age," he said.

"We have to get people in the developing world to turn away from primitive hatreds, we have to get people in the developed world to turn away from short-sighted selfishness," he said.

He said global inequalities fuelled violence and the United States and other wealthy countries had to do more to combat poverty, AIDS and environmental issues such as global warming.

Bush in March pulled out of the 1997 Kyoto treaty on climate change, saying the deal, signed by Clinton, would harm the U.S. eocnomy.

By withdrawing from the accord, Bush removed the world's biggest economy and the emitter of one quarter of the globe's man-made greenhouse gases, from a system based on countries of the world acting in concert.

West also had to bring an end to global inequalities.

Aw, shucks, Bill. After eight years, I thought you and Algore took care of that. And what's this "had to" crap? The West doesn't have TO DO anything. These countries need to get rid of the basket-case economic crap they practice and move towards a free market economy. What Klinton and his ilk have in mind is propping these countries up ... rather than forcing them to become self-sufficient via non-intervention. Giving countries a welfare check is no different than giving an individual a welfare check. Dependency is created in both circumstances. Only when people are forced to sustain themselves do they get off their @ss and do something to make their situation better.

Not to be a cretin, but the simple truth is that Klinton needs to be taken down a couple of notches(sp?). He needs to have his a$$ kicked severely. I'm beginning to believe he really is the antichrist. If the 2 of us were locked up in a room together without his SS boys, one of us would come out bloody, and the other not at all (Lord forgive me). I'm so ticked off at this excuse for a human I can hardly type this.

Look Mr. X president and still pervert. America for the most part has worked hard for what they have. I intend to keep what I have earned not give it to those that haven't. If you try to shake me down, I'll defend what I have. I am not like you an appeaser.

Right out of the mouths of the Taliban-sympathizers in all the Muslim countries, globally, and the seditionists in the U.S.

For all the unAmericans to see and sympathize with. Legal proceedings now!

bill is out of the country whenever attacks occur.

I thought the same thing myself. How convenient for him.

I'm thinking Thursday may be a problem day, that's the 18th, exactly one month after the letter to the NY Times reporter was postmarked. That letter said something about "in four weeks", which would be Oct 18th, and the 18th is the day that 4 of those convicted in the '93 WTC attack are due to be sentenced...

Well, Bill made sure he and his daughter are far away. Wonder where Hillary was rushing to this weekend when her car happened to run over the police officer???

You said..........I wonder why Clinton doesn't cut out on some of his very costly globe hopping and donate the money to the WTC victims. I haven't heard of either Clinton donating any cash at all for as much camera time as they managed to get out of the tragedy.

Hey, he bought some NBA shirts and gave it to some people....$300.00 worth!! (the owner of the store probably GAVE them to him)....and Neverforget that Gore one year gave about $350.00 for the YEAR to charity on about $400,000.00 in earnings!! Liberals are CHEAP....but they VOTE so that EVERYBODY gives and then they don't have to!!

How much do I *despise* this creature and his hideous wife and thoroughly obnoxious whelp?

It's like if he can't get some "glory" on his watch, he's going to ruin it for everyone else. How ironic that after eight pathetic years, his biggest legacy is shooting spooge on an intern's dress and being impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice, while his successor had no dreams of personal greatness when he took office only to have it thrust upon him. That must make the Sink Emperor feel like chewing off his own limbs out of desperation. And the likelihood that it has ruined the chinless, buck-toothed harridan's chances of ever being elected to anything again is just the icing on the cake for this conservative Republican.

Someday, there will be branches of psychiatry devoted just to him and his seriously warped personality. Hers too.

Maybe we should have a terrorist appeasement tax and deposit the proceeds directly in osamas account.

"So, x42 is agreeing, in effect, that we brought this on ourselves. . ."

[By withdrawing from the accord, Bush removed the world's biggest economy and the emitter of one quarter of the globe's man-made greenhouse gases, from a system based on countries of the world acting in concert.]

Seems he is putting right on GW's head. Unbelieveable; but he knows he is safe inasmuch as many mind-impaired Libs will agree.

As for ending global inequalities; we know Clinton really tried. . .he gave our secrets to China, (but not to Taiwan. . .funny, he missed them) who in turn gifted them to Iran or was it Iraq? Whatever, both countries owe alot to Clinton; and wasn't India gifted? . . .then there was N. Korea. . .Russia. . .

. . .Oh, I forgot the group that is currently responsible for a war declared against us. The Taliban; Clinton felt he owed them a few so they might come 'up to speed' with the Northern Alliance. . .

If ONLY Clinton had managed 'four more years'. . .

There is a lesson here America. NEVER vote for a Liberal Democrat EVER. . .? or let us just create a State for them. . .they can rename it La-La Land and govern their own, and leave the reasoned-competant alone.

Liberals ARE always part of the problem; never the solution.

Clinton not only mis-dignoses problems. He lacked the leadership and the courage of his convictions to follow through on his mis-diagnosis. Lip service describes his presidency in so many ways.
