PRAGUE, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Bill Clinton said on Monday the United States and its allies had to win the war against terrorism but in the long run the West also had to bring an end to global inequalities.
Speaking at a human rights conference in the Czech capital, Clinton repeated his support for his successor George W. Bush, and the action taken following last month's suicide attacks on the United States.
"At the moment we have to win the fight we are in, but over the long run we have to spread the benefits and shrink the burdens of this new age," he said.
"We have to get people in the developing world to turn away from primitive hatreds, we have to get people in the developed world to turn away from short-sighted selfishness," he said.
He said global inequalities fuelled violence and the United States and other wealthy countries had to do more to combat poverty, AIDS and environmental issues such as global warming.
Bush in March pulled out of the 1997 Kyoto treaty on climate change, saying the deal, signed by Clinton, would harm the U.S. eocnomy.
By withdrawing from the accord, Bush removed the world's biggest economy and the emitter of one quarter of the globe's man-made greenhouse gases, from a system based on countries of the world acting in concert.

Son of Carter. Bad son. But still son of Carter.
Obviously he has not learned that many or most of the critters come from the upper class.
But then again, Bubba doesn't and did not pay attention to matters of national security. He and his lovely wife, Bruno, saw officers as waiters to cater to their Hollyweird friends.

Clinton and his hag would know all about "short-sighted selfishness", of course.

Bill Klinton can go to Hell! Where he came from.

I wonder why Clinton doesn't cut out on some of his very costly globe hopping and donate the money to the WTC victims. I haven't heard of either Clinton donating any cash at all for as much camera time as they managed to get out of the tragedy.

Clinton is not my president, never was, and never will be. He lived in the White house, fooled around in the white house, bombed an aspirin factory and committed perjury.

Clinton is a para-Marxist disease who is a bigger threat than all the anthrax that could be produced by all the terrorist labs on earth.

Bill is really rearing his ugly head now.
His attitude resembles those of the Saudi prince that Rudy so admirably dissed.
He must be afraid of Barbara Olson's coming book and is concerned about pre-empting the trouncing he's going to get from the public.

Since he's so big on this transfer of wealth, he shouldn't mind if his assets are frozen and redistributed.

I am not embarrassed about the wealth of my country. We worked hard to achieve what we have, and I'm not for giving it away. If you don't earn it, you don't respect it, and you will squander whatever is given to you. Spread the wealth is a marxist, third way, communist way for everybody to follow except for the commie leaders.
Practice what you preach x42, you fat ass pig. Give what you've stolen away, and operate your office out of your home, you glutinous degenerate traitor.

He could be agreeing -- or angling for the $10 Million -- like Cynthia McKinney. He probably needs the cash flow.

Maybe they're saving it for the tougher times ahead...."when putsch comes to shove"...so to speak?

"Dammit, I'm gonna get that Nobel if it kills me! I've never worked harder for anything in my life." Trust me, folks, this is
all about him.
You can call the Clintons a lot of things, but no one can call them patriots. Not with a straight face.

I think the US has more than done its share in third world countries to help out. I get sick of this socialist bullcrap. Most people are rich because they work hard to get there. They provide the jobs we need to feed our own families. Socialists want to spread the wealth? Then stop giving third world governments our money and work with the long-term mission groups that are in these countries. At least the money will go to the people in those countries who need it the most, not to the dictators and leaders.

PRAGUE, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Bill Clinton said on Monday the United States and its allies had to win the war against terrorism but in the long run the West also had to bring an end to global inequalities. I agree. Afghanistan doesn't have nearly enough Clintons and that's an inequity that simply must be addressed.
Please zip it, x42.

"...we have to get people in the developed world to turn away from short-sighted selfishness," he said."
When Bill and Hillary take an oath of poverty to truly "serve" the under-developed nations, I might take him seriously. Meanwhile, they are in NO position to tell the generous middle-class to not be short-sighted and selfish. I believe he's so arrogant that he fails to see the hiprocracy in his comment. How many millions in book deals, guest speeches, library funds, re-election campaigns? It's scary to have Hillary as a New York senator when we need to send the state sooo much money. You can bet she'll find a way to funnel some of the cash to benefit her... in some way.

Oh, I thank God that X42 is no longer at the helm. Hallelujah. I shudder to think of the "what ifs".Well, don't stop shuddering just yet at the "what ifs!" I'm still not convinced that Hitlery's political career is over...she's pure evil--no different than Saddam Hussein nor Osama bin Laden...her methods are just different, that's all. It's so obvious she'd wants nothing less than to be president and will stop at NOTHING to achieve that goal. Mark my words...we are NOT out of the clear yet with these clintons. Shudder at this: "what IF" she runs in 2004 or 2008; and "what IF" she wins the democrat party nomination; and "what IF" she wins in the general election; and "what IF"...well, it just disgusts me to think of the "what IFs"...they are a very real possibility, given the current state of ignorance amongst a major segment of our population.

Shut up! Shut UP!! Shut the hell UP already!!
SHUT UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP!!!
I am so tired of listening to this pathetic pool of dog vomit.

So, x42 is agreeing, in effect, that we brought this on ourselves. My read is that x42 is going further in pimping the socialism he loves. Doesn't this smack of "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need"?

The GOP would be smart if they make it a part of their next presidential campaign to promise a push for global democracy. Cut off aid to despotic dictators, brutal "monarchies" like Saudi Arabia and UAE ect. We don't have to go to war to end these tyrranical leaders but we don't have to help them either. Time for a national energy policy that aces the Arabs out and a foreign policy that promotes democracy rather then domestic profit. Had this been our policy over the last 50 years (cold war was anti-commie, not pro-democratic) we would have never have had to go to Korea, Vietnam, Panaman and the Persian Gulf, nor would we have been attacked on Sept 11 (I'm not blaming the victim, I'm proposng a program to make sure that the number of victims declines).
