October 15, 2001 -- PORTLAND, Maine - Isanu Dyson, a fifth-generation American who converted to Islam three years ago, is prepared to join the jihad against the United States, and believes government workers are fair targets.

The 24-year-old Maine resident, who carries a dagger and 3-foot sword, told The Post it would be "noble" to enlist with the Taliban and fight against American soldiers in Afghanistan.

Why, exactly, is he unemployed...

Uhhh, would you hire a guy that looks like this, and carries a sword?

That guy is using a fake name to avoid another scandal. Don't fall for it, he's really Yusuf Islam aka Cat Stevens!

"Isanu Dyson"...yeah right! Who does he think he's kidding?? Let's burn all the remaining Cat Stevens records leftover after his last scandal!

I sure folks in Maine are proud of what they've sprouted.

It's NOT Maine!

It's Portland, AKA Northern Massachusetts!

Looks like Mr Islam lost a little weight. Probably fasting during the war, or just running low on cash.

Your 21st Century Benedict Arnold. Lock him in a basement somewhere and let him die unmourned and forgotten. With an "American" like him who the heck needs Bin Laden for an enemy?

Keep praying.
Like you, I can't imagine any rational mind supporting the terrorists, let alone, my son.
Get him out of the family business while you still have a business. Buy him out, whatever.
No easy decisions here.

I'd be happy to "interview him"!!!

On topic, I think it it would be revealing to find out how he's living in an apartment, paying bills, buying food, without being employed. Where's the money coming from....the government...other sources?

Looking at Dyson's photo and reading his statements, I think his main problem is that there's no way he can get laid. (Unless he pays for it.)

Of course, looking at the photos of the Taliban and hearing their statements and seeing how they treat women, perhaps, that's the main problem of all fundamentalist Muslims.

No. By innocent I mean those who honestly don't have any knowledge or information regarding Muzlim attacks on America. There may very well not be many of them, but I personally know two. One a black, American born Muzlim (though not religeously devout) who served proudly in the US Army. The other a son of an Arab immigrant who actually cried when he heard about the attacks, and was immediately calling his NY relatives trying to find his sister, who worked in the WTC.

You'd be hard pressed to convice me that these men are the only two out there, and others like them do not deserve to be punished along with our enemies. But, if the Arab/Muzlim American communities don't start turning out the evil among them, they will be.

What are the legal requirements for treason?

Treason is an action rather than just talking. What he is doing would be more along the line of sedition.

It would be helpful if we would declare war. I have no idea why it is to Bush's advantage not to declare war. Congress was willing and Bush asked them not to.

That would be an interesting string to pull. What about being in a declared war is disadvantageous to the presidency?

What part of "You're either with us, or against us" doesn't this idiot understand?

And I bet he thinks he's exercising his "Constitutional rights" by exercising the 1st Amendment. Didn't he say that he's a Muslim-American first? Then those rights should not apply to him any longer. Time to take him to Ft Bragg so he can do some situps at the 100 meter mark on the M-16 qualification range. That's good exercise for him.

Well I just had a scary thought. There are practicing Muslims on those aircraft carriers and amongst the troops now in the Middle East, complete with their own taxpayer-provided mullah-chaplain. These guys are wearing the American flag on their shoulder patch and are right in the middle of the operation against the "enemy." I wonder how many other homegrown American just-recently-converted-to-try-something-different Muslims feel the need to support Osama bin Rodham over Uncle Sam?

I would not be surprised if the US government winds up doing alot of secret dealings with organized white supremacy groups in the near future. Particularly for matters of the enemies in our midst.

They've got the drive and resolve, and a substantial lot of them lack the brains which would get in the way. There are no doubt plenty who would happily kill a mosque full of traitors, and then line up nice and orderly to be executed by the government(s) of the nation they were "defending", seeing themselves as martyrs all the while. An interesting parrallel to the Muzlim suicide bombers.

But he said he consulted an Islamic scholar for guidance, and was told his first responsibility was to a young son from his previous marriage.

Just tell me, why this F^@&!#& Islamic Scholar is not telling this nut case, that JEHAD is bad and it is not part of ISLAM?

Dyson's inflammatory comments have drawn the attention of Portland cops.

Those Portland cops ought to be looking for the anthrax, because it could well be in their midst.

Bin Laden is connected to a Boston biotech firm, Hybridon. Bin Ladens own stake in Massachusetts biomedical firm. While the original culture was probably obtained from Iraq, I believe the anthrax we're hearing about now was probably grown at Hybridon in Boston. Atta and Alomari (or Atta and al-Shehhi) arrived in Boston on the Sunday before the hijackings. I believe that Atta and Alomari (or Atta and Marwan al-Shehhi, as this article contends) were supposed to pick up the anthrax in Boston and deliver it to a cell in the vacinity of Portand, Maine, probably on the Monday before the hijackings. I believe that something went wrong and the anthrax wasn't quite ready for delivery

The two men remained there until a few hours before the hijackings, when they rented a car and drove from Boston to Portland. They then flew back from Portand to Boston, arriving just in the nick of time to catch the flights they hijacked. article here.

I believe they delivered the antrax to a cell somewhere between Boston and the vicinity of Portland, Maine.

As a side note, I suspect the Portland article is right about the identity of the second man being al-Shehhi rather than Alomari. I live in the Virginia Beach, Va. area; and our local news did a few stories about Atta and al-Shehhi registering here at a local hotel at least twice in the year before the hijackings.

At any rate, this Dyson is definitely part of the terror network.
