I am so depressed and sad for my country, and I don't know ANYONE in person who has had anything nice happen in the last month. Not one person.

For the past month, our community has been engaged in a GOOD war! A gasoline one...

We were amazed when after Labor Day prices began to drop, down to $ 1.02 9/10ths, and then to $ .99 9/10ths, which was the all-over-town rate until yesterday.

Get this - one weakened and dropped another penny - at the BP that offers a free car wash with an 8-gallon fill!!
We are winning the war here..:)))

OfMagog is off in the boonies with some Boy Scouts and friends doing repairs of equpment in their jungle canopy workshop.
While we were docked in the Falklands a couple of years ago a ragged, about two year old cat wandered aboard. He had one ear almost chewed off and looked like he had been in many fights. We took him to a vet there and got him in good shape. ofMagog named him "Shark Bait," said he was the ugliest cat on the planet (possibly true!), told him he would toss him to the sharks if he misbehaved, and since has spoiled him rotten.
Per recommendation of LadyX in memory of CHIEF negotiator, Bait's name has been officially changed to "Phish Bait" since CHIEF often told us how much he enjoyed 'phishing' over 'phighting.'

MY VERY BAD KITTY (Sammy the Bull Gravano) didn't wake me up at 2:30 a.m. this morning and yesterday morning!!!! THIS IS TRULY OUTSTANDING!!!

Sammy has been waking us up at 2:30 a.m every morning for THE LAST TWO YEARS!!! We got him as a teeny kitten, kept hoping he'd grow out of his bad behavior. If he wasn't so doggone cute we would have killed him a long time ago--LOL.

(LOL, does this sound like the rantings of a chronically sleep-deprived person???)

My brother is recuperating after triple by-pass and valve replacement surgery on October 3.

Grand-daughter will celebrate her FIRST birthday next week and we are going to see her very, very soon. Just walking too!

I have a nine year old neice who has major problems due to her daddy being a gulf war veteran.......they just had their second (a girl). She is healthy with no problems to date! We are so relieved! :0)

Every day that I wake up is a great day. I am extremely blessed. I have the love of a wonderful family and great friends; I have my health, a roof over my head and enough food to feed my children. Each and every day, I have to look at things with perspective. I, too, am saddened and concerned about the state of the nation and the world, but I have to believe that the people that we elected to serve us, are doing their best and what is best for the nation. We are Americans, and the spirit of America is not one of depression, it is a spirit of faith, determination and hope.
