feel we are not part of those generations.

Therefore, it has been decided, we will be forever know as

THE BRADY BOOMERS

1. We were too young to serve in Vietnam, but remember the news.

2. As far as we're concerned, the music, television and popular entertainment and heroes of the 60s were and still are a matter for personal taste, and don't represent the shining apex of all civilization, icons to be revered by generations to come - in short, the Beatles were just a band that some might not like, and old Trek was cheesy and not well written.

3. Old boomers came into adulthood at while we were playing with Barbies or G.I. Joes.

4. Our clothes and music tended to be lighthearted, and we are more conservative/libertarian as a whole than the older boomers.

5. And of course, we faithfully watched The Brady Bunch every Friday night.

I didn't have a GI Joe, but the neighbor kid did. He also had a truck\van with it.... some kind of urban assault vehicle. I do remember that all of Joe's hair wore off.

I spent hours making Evil Knievil jump and crash in to everything.

I can't remember, was there two versions of Evil Knievil's bike? I'm certain I had two of those crank up things. May have had two bikes, I don't know.

I believe he had a skycycle or one that strictly did wheelies. (previous post was arm popper.. not arm pooper, sometimes I make myself laugh!)

I might happen to stop at my parents house (just before supper) and go through some of my old stuff. They have it stored in a crawl space.

My nieces love to make houses with Lincoln Logs. I was such a sucker the first time, we buit a house with fences and other stuff. I told her to get a doll or something to live in the house we built. errrrr She crashed a car in to it.
Then asked if we could build another and crash again.
{ sigh } I know the Legos are going to be next. (At least they can make the crash-car!)

I never had the Evil Knievil toy, we used to build ramps and jump garbage cans with our bicycles.

A lot of broken bones from that kind of play.

Actually, I always thought girls got the raw end of the deal on that kind of stuff. Let's face it, Darren or Tony? Isn't that kind of like the hives or a fever?

Which Beatle? Paul always won (because of the baby face) John 2nd, George & Ringo for girls who wanted to be different, but nobody really liked them.

In the new era (not a 60's or 70's question), for girls, the question is "which Batman?"

According to my unofficial survey, Val Kilmer is leading George Clooney, with Micheal Keaton lagging sadly behind.

I remember many days standing outside the Boys locker room which just happened to be at the bottom of a long set of stairs which all the girls had to walk up when they were going to band, gym or study hall! The crowd grew so big after a time that the principal came by and asked us to disperse... about that time Vicki (last name deleted) came walking by in her "mini" the principal noticed no one was paying the least bit attention and turned around to see what we were gawking at...

His voice trailed off and he was soon transfixed as the rest of us. After she was out of sight he mumbled "Never mind boys" and wandered away!

Amazingly from that day forward Principal Lockart was always hanging around with us to keep an eye on things!

Holy cow, what *WAS* that gelatinous stuff... My borther, sister and I just loved it -

I share your fond memories of those "living on the edge" toys, especially the thingmakers. We had em all too, complete with the burned fingers and all the olfactory memories. Mmmm MMM the scent of burning plastic. The edibles were only barely so.... a gritty gum with a simulated-flavor scented, mildly strange taste.
