My wife just yelled upstairs to me that NBC News reports that Mullah Omar, leader of the Taliban, has reportedly been killed.
Can anyone confirm?

From what I've read, this guy had been certifiable ever since the Soviets took out one of his eyes. The wound penetrated to his brain and made him nuts and epileptic.
He probably never knew what hit him.

That must be a blow to the Taliban if its true... unfortunately we don't have any hard evidence he's dead. Until there's proof its just a rumor passing for wishful thinking. Still it would be nice if he did meet his Maker. :-)

I was watching MSNBC within the last hour and they were reporting (announced by the Pentagon) that two of Mullah Omar's close male relatives had been killed, but not ol' One Eye himself. But maybe this is new news.
