The Brady Boomers - The 'Tween Generation - Thread 2
Posted on 10/05/2001 10:06:56 PM PDT by WIMom
Most who were born at the tail end of the baby boom
- 1956 to 1964 or the beginning of GenX - 1965 to 1970 -
feel we are not part of those generations.
Therefore, it has been decided, we will be forever know as
THE BRADY BOOMERS
- We were too young to serve in Vietnam, but remember the news.
- As far as we're concerned, the music, television and popular entertainment and heroes of the 60s were and still are a matter for personal taste, and don't represent the shining apex of all civilization, icons to be revered by generations to come - in short, the Beatles were just a band that some might not like, and old Trek was cheesy and not well written.
- Old boomers came into adulthood at while we were playing with Barbies or G.I. Joes.
- Our clothes and music tended to be lighthearted, and we are more conservative/libertarian as a whole than the older boomers.
- And of course, we faithfully watched The Brady Bunch every Friday night.
BRADY TRIVIA QUESTIONS
- How many rooms were in the Brady Bunch's home?
- What was Carol's nickname?
- What was Mike's occupation?
- How many kids were auditioned for the cast of the tv show?

- Where did the back door in the kitchen lead to?
- Name the Elementary, Jr. High & High Schools that the kids attended
- How much did Greg's first car cost?
- What was the name of the family's pet sheepdog?
- What was the name of the rarely seen next door neighbors on the tv show?
- Which Little House on the Prairie cast member appeared on the Brady Bunch?
- What item in the back yard was never used once throughout the series?

Carol didn't have a job, either. What did that woman do? At least June Cleaver vacuumed wearing a dress and pearls. LOL!And she had Alice too! That must have been the life!

But you can't take the country out of Salem.

Good job, Gal...That's two for you!
Found this on the net. Haven't located a pic yet.
Out of the land of the tobacco plant
Come a tall, fast-drawin', long lean look
Feared by his friends and enemies alike
Feared by all who come to know the name of...JOHNNY SMOKE!

Yeeee-HAAAAAWWWWWWWW!!!!!
Anyone know who this is?
No fair peaking.

Actually, the steps in the den do make sense. If you look at the picture of the stairs above, the flight of stairs ends on the stone landing. So you have to do down a couple of steps to the living room/dining room...and remember, there are a couple of steps down from the front door to the living room. The area behind the steps (the lovely avacado green wall) would the Alice's room, the laundry room and the kitchen would be around the corner. The dining room area would be to the left of the planter at the bottom of the steps. There, don't you feel better.
Each time PaDad and I have gone househunting I always use the 'Brady Bunch' house as my reasoning for not liking contemporary facades. They get too dated, too fast.

I'm having trouble with #4 and #5. I'm working on it, though. :)
To: MasonGal;one_particular_harbour
I know them. Want me to tell?
The minute you walked in the joint,
I could tell you were a man of distintion,
A real big spender,
Hey big spender,
Spend a little dime with me.
To the tune of an old stripper song. And no, one_particular_harbour, not from experience.....*G*

I knew the song - but I just can't remember the cigarette brand. Is it Pall Mall or Viceroy?
I knew the other ones right away --but 4 and 5 are giving me fits.
To: MasonGal
Here's a hint for #5.

To: MasonGal

I'm trying to just go through all the brands of cigarettes I can remember (and no - I do not smoke, never did) -
Let's see - there's Camel, Salem, Winston, Virginia Slims, Pall Mall, Viceroy, Marlboro, umm - let's see - what am I leaving out?
To: Sabertooth
I can't get it. Sorry, no teen picture.
