Rest in peace, Herb, my brother.
Though we had never met, we knew ye well.
The world and FR are diminished by your premature departure.
Semper Fi, Do or Die.

A very nice tribute (at #140) Registered!
Chief N. could so often be found fighting tyranny on the battlefield of Taxes, earning a couple of stars and numerous medals for valor IMO.
Thanks for the address Joe.

I am stunned and saddened.
I considered Herb a friend. I will find a way to be at the funeral.

I am not a very emotional person, but your tribute to CHIEF negotiator brought a tear to my eye, Registered.
Since I found FR in 2000, the people here have seemed like an extended family.
Your tribute to CHIEF is worth ten of your normally satirical posts to me.
Thank you,
CD.
CHIEF, may God be with you and your family in this time of sorrow.

When I reach Heaven, I hope God has instant replay, so I can experience the reunion Mom and Dad had this morning. This is what Chief Negotiator posted in the lovely tribute he wrote on the day of his mother's death. He didn't need instant replay because I'm sure his Mom and Dad were waiting for him, and she probably took him in her arms again.
I was so sad when I read of his death this morning. I had enjoyed his post last night about not being able to 're-up' with the Marines. He sounded like such a hoot!
Come to think of it, maybe Chief Moran (BCM) who died at the WTC was there to greet him too, as a fellow freeper.

Just think. When Osama's wish to die in his Jihad is shortly granted, he will arrive in Heaven only to discover that the streets are guarded by Herb Meadows.
Won't that be Hell.

Thank you...for my friend.

This is so sad, I already miss him. CHIEF is irreplacable.
May God bless his family and everyone at FR that knew him.
To: 68-69TonkinGulfYatchClub,COB1,
I don't know if anyone has already said this, but..... I sure hope that when Chief gets to heaven, he goes right up to the "Let's Roll" guys and tells them how proud we all are of them! They did a great thing!
No More Demofascists and I send a "Semper Fi" to the Chief.....
To: 68-69TonkinGulfYatchClub
Thanks, fella. Will send what I can. This is very sad.

Re: your post #104 of Chief's post describing his beliefs about death. Thank you for sharing this one.
When I get to heaven someday Chief, I'll be ever so pleased to finally meet you in person. I know you are deliriously happy in the presense of our glorious Lord Jesus, and we left here on earth are lifting your loved ones left behind to God's tender loving care. He will provide all they need according to HIS riches in glory!
You will be missed.
To: CHIEF negotiator
Goodbye my friend for now .... I'll loft one with you when I get there. Just keep em cold till I do

I "chatted" with Chief several times via FR. He seemed like a wonderful and patriotic individual.
This is truly sad news.
To: 68-69TonkinGulfYatchClub
Oh Man this is just so sad. My prays to his family. I WILL miss him.
Thanks for the flag
