Flame me if you want, but in my opinion that "Highway of Death" was one of the low points in U.S. history. When I saw General Colin Powell on television explaining why the U.S. felt a need to attack a column of civilian vehicles like that, I wanted to see him tried as a war criminal.

I don't recall his explanation, but as I recall the incident, they were being driven by Iraqi soldiers who were trying to escape to Iraq, basically because our armed forces had destoyed many of their trucks and tanks, they had to steal civilian vehicles...many of which was loaded with valuables and personal items that they looted from the civilians of Kuwait before trying to flee.

Trust me, his explanation was about as lame as Bill Clinton's grand jury testimony. Especially when he was asked which war conventions permitted the indiscriminate bombing of people fleeing the scene (as opposed to capturing them, since they were no longer a threat).
