Chelsea Clinton Ready for Oxford

OXFORD, England (AP) - Chelsea Clinton settled into Oxford University on Monday, where she will begin a two-year graduate degree course next week - following in the footsteps of her father.

The 21-year-old enrolled in the prestigious university to study international relations for a master's degree. Classes begin next Monday.

Former President Bill Clinton, who helped his daughter move in on Sunday, attended the same school as a Rhodes scholar from 1968-70.

Clinton told waiting reporters that she looks forward to "everything" about life at Oxford University. She has also said that she wants to be treated as a normal student.

University officials said the former president's daughter applied for her course last January, and received a place based on evidence of her academic achievements and her academic references.

Clinton graduated in June from Stanford University with a history degree.

I heard the plastic surgeon's first question to her was "Paper or plastic?".

She does and it is because that family is America's royalty. They are so much higher than we mere mortals.

I feel sorry for the poor young "Lady."

She apparently learned that Women must USE MEN to achieve their "Goals".

Or that women must "abase themselves to Men" to achieve their "Goals!"

Poor Chelsea has dramatic object lessons that demonstrate BOTH "Points of View!"

She MUST BE somewhat confused!

LORD WILLING, she will reject the false "Lessons" of her "Parents," & learn enough to help us (the Culture into which She was Born) take ourselves to the Stars.

THAT--after ALL is "Said & Done,"--is our Purpose!

I heard that GWB extended Chelsea's SS protection. I don't know if it is still in effect.

Not true, it was one of the last EO's that Clinton wrote before he left office.

Hmmm...Look at the top photo of Chelsea Hubble-Clinton and then this one of the Bush girls. It's like that old Seame Street song, "One of these kids is doing thier own thing, one of these kids is not like the others..."

Let me guess: after graduating she will be writing a book about her father's Presidency! A complete whitewash ...

Maybe not. I'm hoping to see a book that's a cross between "Mommie Dearest" and "Mafia Princess".

Couldn't you just see Hitlery in the "NO WIRE HANGERS!" scene? Or when Joan Crawford freaked out and was cutting down the roses? It's got Hitlery written all over it.

You're upset because Oxford admitted her, huh? Well, she did complete her BA in history at Stanford, and, so far as I know, did very well.

Well tell me oh, ancient fountain of wisdom and intelligence, tell me what to post so I live up to your expectations. If people like you don't like these threads then you shouldn't come here to whine and complain about them.

Jeff, my response to you was logical and even tempered. I agree that some shut-eye might help you feel a bit better and I wish you a great night's rest.

I'm aware she "received" a degree from Stanford. I just have to question how one does that when they are traveling all over the world for most of that time. You may recall that she started as a pre-med, meaning her first 2 years would have been heavily concentrated on the sciences - physics, chemistry & biology, with little time to pursue extra history courses. Her last 2 years were full of travels with her parents around the world. It's a little tough to keep up w/classwork in Palo Alto when you're strapped on the back of a camel in Egypt. That was simply my point.
