Katie Couric Infers Gore Could Have Prevented WTC Crisis!
Today Show
Posted on 09/26/2001 11:46:37 AM PDT by zencycler
Was anyone else watching the Today Show? She was interviewig someone knowledgable on foreign policy matters (not sure who) and she asked him if he thought the WTC crisis could have been averted if we'd had a president with more foreign policy experience. What unmitigated gall.
Her guest speculated that someone such as former President Nixon may have been able to do something, and they went on to discuss another topic. I'm still fuming over what to me is her obvious inference that Gore could have prevented this disaster.

Katie Couric is an idiot and she continues to prove this on her own.

Just looking at his screen name (McCain 2004) tells you where he comes from, too. Let's banish him to the Democratic Underground website.

"

presumably, she is convinced that AlphaGore has this foreign-policy experience? What? When? Where? What did I miss?

"I thought it was implemented 2 weeks ago, but go ahead and say it was implemented on Clinton's watch--after all, he IS the source of all evil." Can you handle the truth, numb-nuts?

And what exactly was Clinton's foreign policy experience ouside of his apology tours to Mexico, Vietnam, China, Middle East and Africa? Perhaps his 40 days/nights in Moscow (1970) adds up to some extensive experience to the inside workings of Communism.
And what was Gore's foreign affairs experience? Being in Vietnam as a photojournalist with a bodyguard in a shortened deployment tour (by 5 months)? Did Gore attend any foreign leader's funerals...that may count....;-) Or did his family's close relationship with the Soviet apologist Armand Hammer give Gore an inside look at the workings of Commmunism?

"Using Katie's flawed logic, the February 1993 attack on the WTC while Clinton was President must have been due to his lack of foreign policy experience, as he had none, at the time."
He did so have foreign policy experience; or did you forget about his "draft dodging, drug using, America bashing stay in England"???

Hours after the attack (about 3pm on the 11th of September) I heard Katie state in a discussion with an NBC middle east reporter - "We have always had problems with the Arabs. So what is different now? Why are they attacking us now? Could it be (Katie asked rhetorically) that this president has particularly annoyed the Arabs?"
To which the reporter replied that indeed the Palestinians were quite perturbed about the US not supporting peace keepers in Isreal. It was a brilliant piece of analysis on their part. Not!
Even at that early hour it was apparent that this attack had been planned over a long time period. But do not hold Katie to any logical standard. Please!

That's not exactly taking over industry, but a pure capitalist would take a "laissez-faire" attitude and let the airlines die if that's where the economy takes it. Airflight is not a pure capitalistic enterprise. It depends heavily on federal laws to be able to move betwen states and foreign gov'ts, its airports are ussually publicly financed, air traffic is controlled by federal laws and finally the federal gov't put them out of business.
Reimbursing someone who has had assets taken from them is a central theme of capitalism. In this case the airlines lost revenues by being grounded plus the lost long term revenues by the failure of the gov't to protect its citizens from hijackings.
But again you know all this. Your debate tactics are quite transparent to the many Freepers/lurkers who read your posts.

if you'd pull your head out of your clinton and wipe the mccain from your ears, you'd hear the sound of 4 more years of b2 marching on your head.

Bush served in the National Guard. The only place McCain should serve is an asylum.

yeah, the rapid response and definitive actions of clintoon the last time americans were murdered by obl's network, or the time before that, had nothing to do with the emboldened massacre of americans on 9-11. now i'm positive you have mccain for brains.

Congratulations on getting the Fox News Channel....it took me years and got it last January where we live. We have it on constantly in every room with a TV in our house! Don't ever start the day with Katie Couric as you can spill your morning coffee all over yourself before you are fully awake!
