President Bush met with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, who pledged Japan's complete support for newly renamed Operation Enduring Freedom. The President also spoke out once again about freezing the assets of terrorist groups in countries other than the United States. On the military front, the President activated another round of reservists.
Meanwhile, First Lady Laura Bush spent the day in New York City where she visited PS41 as well as midtown Manhattan fire Batallion 9. The firefighters gave Laura a New York Fire Department cap and patch.
Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I want to thank you once again.
I am not online a lot these days......
Well, not as much as I once was.
Please continue to keep me 'Bumped' on your list.
For those who've not seen this great art by our own beloved
Billie.....
In my humble opinion..... It IS Her Best....
It Say's it All!

If this had been B*tchlery, the flowers would turn into vipers (or would that be her hair?)...

You and the rest have me grinnin' like a possum.
Yeah, my husband knows I get on this thread nightly; not sure he knows what a fool I make of myself, but fortunately he doesn't have the patience to load this thread. I should never have admitted my screen name to him .... or to anybody!
Seriously, I love dubya too, and isn't Laura just too beautiful in the pics today. Her sweetness and calm are so refreshing and I'm sure she is a great comfort to our President (and her husband).

>>We had TWO incidents of terror on Clinton's watch, the bombing of the embassies when he tossed off a few missiles and again with the bombing of the Cole, which he completely ignored. No wonder the terrorists thought they could get away with bombing NYC.<<
You are so right! And ... like the President said, "the terrorists have miscalculated".
They assumed we are all like Clinton.

Ohhhhhh, Uncle Sam cuddling Lady Liberty, and rolling up his sleeves to protect her! It makes me want to cheer. Magnificent, Billie. Thank you.
And thank you, Rintense, for your beyond-the-line-of-duty work. Even though we know you do it as a labor of love, you deserve a medal.

Laura is so beautiful...truly.
I just heard someone on the radio today who said that she smoked or used to smoke. Does anyone know this for sure? I know that Dubya said that he stopped years ago. Just curious about this.

I just heard someone on the radio today who said that she smoked or used to smokeI've heard that she used to, but quit a long time ago. (Good thing!) One documentary referred to her smoking with her friends in the back seat of the car when they were 'cruising' Midland in High School.
I've also read that the White House has a no smoking policy.

Yes, the White House had the no smoking policy instituted by Hillary. That is the only good thing she ever did! I guess any administration can change the rules as they wish.
I was just so surprised when I heard that Laura smoked. I do hope that she has quit for her health's sake.

OhioWfan----ROFLOL--OK, I haven't kissed the TV, but I take the 5th in re: all print media. BBWWWAAAAHAHAHAHAH I am also sure that Laura would completely crack up at all of us- they have a very secure marriage and I love to think of the two of them checking the dose and having a good laugh at all of us. And being encouraged too, of course.
Kayak--I was doing OK when I was watching the trade center coverage until W came on TV in Florida that day and then I lost it and started bawling like a baby. I just felt so sad for us, and for him having to carry the burden of all of this, and just SO grateful that he was in charge and that the country was going to rally around him.
YOu know what is really weird?? ALl these pundits coming out of the closet saying "oh bush is now the president and he has grown up before our eyes...blah blah blah" -- and I want to scream no!! He has always been this way! And the funny thing is, sometimes I really feel like I know him--not really personally, but just being able to read his face or his manerisms and stuff---like one night someone posted after a photo "oh there's The Look" and I was like "no, that's not the look, that look means such and such...." Weird. OK now I sound like a complete stalker....LOLLL
Esther2- you read my mind in post 52 LOL
Hillsborofox I am just going to give you a :-D
Also OhioWfan---UGH the Toon's nose is GROSS and even looks cancerous. It's probably end stage syphillus or something LOL!!

Wait!! I don't get it. What did you do that was so "strange." Seems perfectly normal to me.
To: Swede Girl
I saw Laura interviewed once (by someone hostile) and they quizzed her about her smoking. She informed them that she used to smoke but has quit. They wanted to know when she quit and she would not say, just that it was a while ago.
To: ohioWfan
LOL, I think your behavior is just based on all of the emotion of the last two weeks! Who wouldn't feel this way after all we have been through! Just knowing that President Bush and his band of Able men and women are in charge at a time like this makes you want to kiss the screen with pure thankfulness to God for sending us this team knowing what we were going to be facing!
Imagine the horror we would feel if Gore had managed to usurp the election afterall? Horror upon horror is double horror or something! LOL
I find myself just bursting into tears when he appears on the screen acting like a LEADER! It seems so long since we had one.

Laura Bush is in her element when she is with children isn't she? She just radiates around them. Gosh, wish I had the serene disposition she possesses. Nothing seems to break her spirit. She is so good at projecting confidence in the nation along with her hubby who is just doing the most wonderful job of leading us through this dark night.
To: rintense
Laura is really cute with the kids and what a treat for them!
Thank God a man who deserves to stand in front of a banner praising Fidelity and Integrity is the man in charge here.

I am VERY GLAD Laura went to NYC. Not just for the pro-active purposes of helping build morale and spreading calm, but as a counter-active agent to blubba's ubiquitous presence.
