Barney Frank says WE CAN WAIT ANOTHER WEEK SO THEY CAN "WORK AS A COMMITTEE" TO CRAFT AN ANTI-TERRORIST BILL THAT ALL CAN LIVE WITH. CONCERNED ABOUT "RELEASE OF INFORMATION" being inappropriately disclosed. Probably worried about his own "exposures".

I thought it was Bob Dornan that said that and got suspended from the House Floor...?
If not, Bob Dornan was at least thinking it.
I think this is all knee jerk reaction. People need to think sensibly.

Barney Frank is a native of Bayonne,New Jersey. Everyone in this splendid, patriotic American town has a nickname. Chuck Wepner, a fine (and brave) boxer and a very good guy, was called the "Bayonne Bleeder." He never deserved such a crummy nickname.
But Barney Frank does. I suggest we call Barney Frank "The Bayonne Bugger.' By the way, if The Bayonne Bugger had ever run for office in Bayonne, his home town, he would have a better chance of being elected Miss Budweiser than winning his befouled seat in Congress.

I'm watching the hearing right now. The DOJ Rep, David Kris, says the DOJ is asking for broader surveillance authority for A ONE YEAR PERIOD FOR NON-U.S. CITIZENS ONLY.

You really are LOOPY!! Do you think he can just go BOMB someplace?? Do you really think he's as stupid as Clinton or as immoral?? Is Acton in Barney's district??

Barney Frank's motivations are for his own sorry behind (and others who would patronize it).

"my argument is that he's protecting the bill of rights and american people IN THIS INSTANCE. Okay...
"your argument is, he's gay and supported clinton, therefore he's evil incarnate."
I've got absolutely nothing against how a single man gets his jollies in private...his sexual inclinations DO NOT make him Evil Incarnate. Prostitution using his employee and taxpayer-provided office space and personal living quarters does reflect badly on him, IMHO. His Blind Support of Der SchleekMeister, though, that makes Frank an Obstructor of Justice, and in my book, that is Unforgivable!!
"maybe you need to look at the issue instead of a knee-jerk response."
Maybe I did...
"maybe a gay man will save your liberties just like a gay man helped down the plane in Pittsburgh."
Once again, don't even try to slander me as a Homophobe, you twit!!

"The DOJ Rep, David Kris, says the DOJ is asking for broader surveillance authority for A ONE YEAR PERIOD FOR NON-U.S. CITIZENS ONLY." Sounds reasonable...MUD

Yes I do think he can just go bomb someplace. Actually, Congress gave him this power explicitly last week. Clinton did it without authority. So yes, I think he can bomb anyplace he wants whenever he wants. That's what Congress said.
Acton is not in Barney's current district. It is in Meehan's district. Redistricting is proposed that would put it in Barney's district. BTW, I have never and will never vote for either of them.

Geee, the DOJ would NEVER *LIE* to us...now WOULD they???!!
Just remember how many of US would have been considered 'suspect' under these laws had they applied to the PREVIOUS adminstration? Then imagine how fun a Hitlery administration would be with these laws applied to us...
No thanks. Franks might be an objectionable person with regard to lifestyle and political beliefs, but fearing an out of control 'investigative' sector of government isn't a bad thing. These laws smack of NAZI Germany. They might apply to OBL and his henchmen today, but how long till they are applied to pro-life Christian 2nd amendment folks?
I have nothing for Franks. But, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Frank & Congers didn't care so much for the Constitution when Clinton was violating his oath of office! They just want to gain some personal political hay in the aftermath of 9-11.....I say give John Ashcroft (on a temporary basis) what tools he needs to search & destroy these evil enemies of America & the civilized world!

I've been watching it. Doesn't it remind you of the elections? They are being good little democrats and following the agenda.

"Is that express limitation in the law to be passed?" I'm not actually watching it, just following the thread. I do like the idea of "sunsetting" laws, though...same philosophy should be applied to every Social Program we've got on the books.
