I am a Christian but I am still afraid, especially for my young children. I know that it is difficult to find the US in biblical prophecy, especially in the end times. Could it be that we simply don't exist? I fear that is the answer.
Maybe the beast that rises out of the sea in revelation is not the UN but Terrorism, different from the others beasts is it not? There is no way the US can protect itself from biological, chemical or nuclear weapons, we haven't the will to fight political correctness and evict our enemies.
As terrible as this sounds, I'm afraid, I mean really afraid, it's effecting my ability to concentrate and work. Forgive me for posting this.
What you describe above is a word play. I'm not saying it is an illegitimate word play (word plays are all over the Bible), but Artzot HaBrit = United States. That's not a word play, it's a dictionary entry. It is a definition directly taken from the word "brit": covenant, treaty, pact, alliance... bet resh yud tav. Britanyah is transliterated: tet vs. tav. The British Empire was great. The last vestige of 'great' is in name only. America + Israel... Ephraim + Judah. The terrorists seem to understand this instinctively.
Most important: I think we are all a bit scared if we stop to think of it but then I am sure that many like me then turn to G*d and with a leap of "faith", trust that he will protect us and we will prevail. That leap of faith is calming and refreshening.
Also, to borrow and probably paraphrase a Jesuit saying that I love , "For The GREATER GLORY of G*D!". That saying to me means that we should do everything for the greater glory of G*d and that helps to make one feel braver, too.

- I am a mom of three young children too. Educate your children about the end times, don't allow them think too much that life is going to be wonderful all the time. (e.g. don't shelter them too much, but *do* explain things to them! and help them to understand God is not surprised and has us in the palm of his hand!) My dad did that with me, and it has spared me a lot of disappointment. :-)
Thanks for all your great links, and I'm with you 100% on Ephriam and Mannasah, a large part of Isreal (the ten tribes)are in America, but not all, there scattered all over, predominately, in Christian countries.
There isn't going to be a rapture either, we will be here during the tribulation, have faith in God.....
In His Service.....
I imagine we're both right seeing how Britain and America received Jacob/Israel's name with Britain receiving the birthright. I still say Britain isn't in the category of a has-been nation. The company of nations making up the U.K. is a great end time force. I believe it's more accurate to look at the root of names rather than their modernized names. The word America may have it's roots in the line of Manasseh, Land of the Britons looks to be definitely Hebrew. Ephraim (the U.K.) has definitely been more fruitful and therefore great. We speak Ephraim's language, the U.K. is spread to the four corners of the earth covering much more land mass. The nations of the U.K. generally follow Britain's lead in times of war. Not to mention that Britain holds the sceptor of Judah, David's kingline.
Thanks and right on, man. I like to see people who can put two and two together and take the time to put bible prophesy together using common sense. I don't understand how anyone can think that America is the end time beast. What other country along with the U.K. could qualify to make Jesus' enemies His footstool? Now, there will be correction and therefore Jacob's Trouble is on the way, but "trouble" doesn't equal "absolute destruction".
We don't know when He will come again - and it shouldn't matter, because we should love and honor Him every day regardless of that day's proximity to Armageddon. Obsession with signs is spiritually unhealthy (how did Christ describe the generation which sought for a sign?) and mentally unhealthy too (if you examine the rest of this thread, you'll see some of the most demented twistings of Scripture I've ever witnessed).
You're trying to use it to paint me as a "scoffer" when I have affirmed on this thread that I believe the Son of God will come again in glory.
I'm not scoffing at the message of Christ or His apostle - far from it. I'm pointing out your arrogance and hubris in claiming to be able to predict His coming as if you were a special emissary of the Holy Spirit.
"America" as am and rica? This is ignorant raving, not scholarship. All this is a covering for the sin of pride, the desire to be considered important enough to live in the last days.
We may be living in the endtimes. We may not. But our responsibility is to love and serve Christ, not to spend our days searching for signs like an evil and adulterous generation.
And what has come of that re-reading of the threads and the comments from myself and others?
Has God's word (and your reading of it) helped, too? Has God spoken to you out of His word as He tells us that He will -- by means of His Holy Spirit speaking to you and recalling to your mind various things that He has written?
Let us know, since you got responses from several concerned readers here.
