Normally, that word offends me - in this case, it is the ONLY word to use.Dittos!
That plane's probably the prettiest gal Laden has ever had before.
Hope he enjoys it.

Sorry my friend, but the Puff call sign was never used by the AC-130. It was used by its immediate predecessor, the AC-47.
There was only one time that an AC-130 might have been confused with Puff (also called Spooky) that was during its secret combat eval circa 1967.
I volunteered for AC-130 duty during Vietnam and couldnt get into the program until 1975. Proudly flew the unfriendly skies with Specter until 1990 and still work with that platform today doing test and development.

Is that a DU round and the A-10 cannon??? Years ago on Discovery/History whatever channel I saw a clip of an A-10 letting loose on a tank, and then they replayed it in slow motion. One of the most incredible things I ever saw. Much more spectacular-looking that a missile hit on a tank

That's awesome! Its an honor to share this thread with you. Were you the one pounding Noriaga's bunkers with the AC130?
Without violating the "loose lips sink ships" pledge, what is new on these bad boys?

another good one is 'dear mom- a sniper's viet-nam' by joseph t. ward. i recommend it.
A sign at the Marine Corps Scout Sniper School, Quantico, Virginia, reads:
"The average rounds expended per kill with the M-16 in Vietnam was 50,000.
Snipers averaged 1.3 rounds.
The cost difference was $2300 vs. 27 cents."
'white feather' is a legend. i read where they're trying to get him the medal of honor for getting all those guys out of the burning personel carrier. he's gone now but i sure hope they give it to him.

The MA109;; Tank how many miles to the gallon does it get? Seeing as it has a 133gal tank. And I would think a tank is not a distance travelor it moves in works and retreats then is trucked out. Not that it matters just that I plain do not know.
