Tom seemed pretty happy with it. He might have slipped in a few "GW is growing" comments, but that's about it.

One of my best friends who is a Democrat today(she is conservative, but has been clinging on to the Democrat label), is going to change here registration to Republican tomorrow.
That says it all for me!

Surfing: Dan Rather was bowled over. On ABC Jennings brought on the President of Brown University asked her how students would react. She said "Mixed ... " whereupon I moved to NBC. Russert like Rather loved it. On Fox Bill Kristol was cool but Birnbaum (liberal) was enthusiastic.
My opinion: a great, great speech. Only (minor) criticism he should have introduced the NYFD and NYPD guys in the balcony.

How is the Media Reacting to The GWB Speech? They are drooling all over their bibs.......the home has announced a double helping of apple sauce, with a picture of B. Clinton at the bottom of the bowl, in an attempt to pacify the patients.....
Brokaw is shoveling it in with two spoons.

Hope everybody caught "mister politically-correct" Larry King tactlessly ask the blind guy who escaped the WTC "so did you watch The President's speech?" We nearly fell off our chairs laughing!

#3 is fabulous news. We're gonna need all those converts to overcome the "I'm-never-going-to-vote-for-a-republicrat-again" crowd in future elections.

I could not believe my ears when Dan Rather said this is the best speech since at least FDR and then he added he bets some will argue and say this is the best speech in the history of the country made by a president. What can I say but holy smokes......Ratherboy was just blown away. AS for the other newspeople, I do not know.

Some are reacting as if someone pissed in their cool-aid. Wonder who that could be now?

A liberal co-worker called me after the speech to confess that she had "voted for the wrong man." I'm am so proud of our president.

Don't know about Tom, et al.; but all at my house thought the speech was great. Content AND delivery: masterful. RR could not have done better.

I agree with Rather. I have heard every President beginning with FDR. No President has ever delivered a speech with so much of himself and his emotions. Others read a pretty speech written by others but seemed like they were just playing the part. Our President is the part.

You would think Alan Colmes suddenly became a Republican. He is full of praise.

When Howard Fineman calls him "eloquent" you know it was good.
Damn good.
