ASU senate votes against US Flag in cafeteria
Michael Medved Show ^

One of the segments of todays show was a caller from Arizona State University.
Their Student Senate voted AGAINST putting up the American Flag in the
cafeteria, because "somebody might get offended?".
Ironically it was a Syrian National student that voted FOR flying the flag and called in
to report this to John Carlson, who is sitting in for Michael Medved.
It was white middle class liberals that either voted AGAINST the flag, or abstained from voting.
The show can be heard at Listen live to the Michael Medved show .
Can anyone get a second source on this?

This is what our higher institutions of learning are coming to?
If you are offended by OUR flag, I'd seek a new place to live.

This is a college - let's see if some ASU students might be motivated to protest...

We need to make all understand that the American flag is PER SE, not offensive. It is simply part of the fabric of life in America and if a party finds that offensive, the only option is TOUGH or an exit visa. This must be driven home to all, particularly to students attending subsidized public universities. And it must be done now.

The university is now more important that the country it's located in. Amazing!

Not a flame alert!
Not only have they come, they are irretrievably gone! Sad.

A supervisor at a local AT&T Broadband office in Atlanta made an employee take down an American flag. The story broke last hour on WGST Radio. An AT&T official was just on re-assuring people that this was not AT&T company policy, but that the supervisor who did make the employee take down the flag was doing something that "in her mind she thought was right."

Perhaps someone needs to remind that French company that they are operating on American soil...and pocketing American dollars.
Perhaps their contract should be reviewed.

I'M A HOMEFRONT SOLDIER
I'm a homefront soldier
Today I'm standing tall
Taking on all traitors
I'll fight them one and all
My weapons will be email
The telephone and pen
I'm a homefront soldier
Until this war we win
Foreign or domestic
No enemy will I spare
I'm a homefront soldier
And I will do my share

It was white middle class liberals that either voted AGAINST the flag, or abstained from voting. This is what comes of permitting the public schools to deemphasize the history of America's roots: ie. the actions and values of Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Madison, Patrick Henry, etc., and teaching instead the Marxist idea that the White American mainstream are the gulty exploiters of every failure on earth.
No self-respecting rooted American ought to support any school system that refuses to honor the American tradition--the real American tradition, not the People For The American Way travesty. What you see here are not bad youths--only uneducated, brainwashed youths, who have been denied access to their own heritage. Understand where the blame belongs, that we may correct the problem.

I'm quite offended by the lack of patriotism in this country.
ASU.
OFFEND THIS!!! ASU is USA backwards. Backwards is what they are.

Dammit! ASU too!?
I graduated from ASU in '91. I was there during the Gulf War. I went throught ROTC there. It was a generally conservative campus at that point with a few malcontents.
They had one of the best Army ROTC Battalions in the US that I was in. It was a great place.
What happened!? PHX and Tempe are generally conservative, this won't stand for long...

No, really, Fork 'em...

Wonder how other universities/colleges throughout the land are handling this. . .I pray this response is not typical. . .but given their education, could well be.
Surely, there is some young 'red blood' out there in the hearts of our rising generation. . .
. . .and maybe it is time to stop sending those checks to support these schools if the best they can do is offer a 'left-wing', communist education/indoctrination. (Where would these anti-capitalist Professors be without 'the money'. . .that makes living in their 'ivory towers' possible..)

OFFEND THIS!!! ASU is USA backwards. Backwards is what they are.Good one. The examples of unpatriotic/PC behavior at America's universities is not surprising. They are insulated places with a great deal of influence on the young and it is time the outside world educated the educators about America.

I'm offended that other people are offended at displaying the flag. Since when does their taking offense trump mine? More likely, the "we don't want to give offense" excuse is oh-so-tolerant-sounding cover for the true motive behind many of the anti-flag-display episodes--antipathy for America. I'd have more respect (not much, but more) for these people if they would "fly their true colors" rather than constructing flimsy pretexts to prevent patriots from flying theirs. They're not just antiAmericans, they're gutless antiAmericans.
