This is quite sad. These children do not realize that adults will soon die to protect the freedom and liberty which they are so flippantly willing to barter away in the name of tolerance and social justice.
How different did those of long ago respond.....
The Spires of Oxford
I saw the spires of Oxford As I was passing by, The gray spires of Oxford Against a pearl-gray sky, My heart was with the Oxford men Who went abroad to die.
The years go fast in Oxford The golden years and gay, The hoary Colleges look down On careless boys at play. But when the bugles sounded war They put their games away.
They left the peaceful river, The cricket field, the quad, The shaven lawns of Oxford To seek a bloody sod -- They gave their merry youth away For country and for God.
God rest you, happy gentlemen, Who laid your good lives down, Who took the khaki and the gun Instead of cap and gown. God bring you to a fairer place Than even Oxford town.
Winifred M. Letts

I hope this is a isolated incident. I was proud for my generation this weekend as most of the rallies in my town were led by young teenagers.

"I think the United States deserves it," said Berkeley High senior Pat rick Rizzo. Why doesn't the stupid kid go to Iraq and live if he hates the US so much? If he really prefers fanatic Islam to the US way, then he's certainly welcome to go live there.

I live in Kansas and my dad works at a golf course. He said that on Tuesday, to a person, those...say 50 and over were ready to sign up and take on the terrorists. Some were so distraught that though they came out and tried to golf, they ended up coming in and asking for "rain checks" because they just couldn't keep their minds on their game.
We live in a college town and sadly, these men's counterparts in the younger generation weren't really moved and seemed to have no problem whatsoever enjoying a round or two.

What are their parents teaching them anyway? Ridiculous little commies.

when it came to risking their own lives to fight for America, most said they would try to find a way out. The sad fact is these attacks are going to have to continue, and get worse, to WAKE UP THE IDIOTS in this country who don't understand the severe price that has to be paid for liberty. Our founding fathers didn't let someone else gain and keep freedom for them, they knew it had to be fought for themselves.

The blame for the ignorance of these students lies with the teachers & the parents. Where do you think they learned this anti-American sentiment? They should be ashamed.

Jamaal Germaine, 15, a sophomore at McClymonds High School. "I'm not in a rush to help our country because our country is already messed up." Yeah, because of commie pieces of s*** like you!

What do you expect from Oakland, next door neighbor to Berkley. Little commies the lot of them. I know, I have an Uncle in law who is a professor at Berkley, and how I despise him!!!

"Why should I go fight in a war and die for nothing." I guess MTV will have to go off the air and Nintendo will have to go bankrupt before this imbecile finds something worth dying for. I have no use for these little spoiled brat bastards. They can all go rot in Afghanistan as far as I'm concerned. In fact, before we send REAL Americans to die, let's just airdrop these little pissants behind the lines with rifles. Then they can either use them or die. I don't particularly care which.

If the high school students of 1941 had this view, we'd be speaking German or Japanese right now.......
Obviously, they have failed to understand that Those Who Refuse To Learn From History Are Doomed To Repeat It.

These kids are just slow learners. Our enemy will, I fear, make it personal enough for them all too soon. They are about to get a lesson in "life during wartime". This is different from wars previous: now we have an enemy that is bringing the war to us. Right home to main street.

"How are you going to defend a nation if that nation can't defend against things like homelessness," asked Jamaal Germaine, 15, a sophomore at McClymonds High School.

These are, no doubt, the ones who derive enjoyment out of setting fire to the homeless, removing stop signs from intersections, and listen to Marilyn Manson.
When I think about these people I just remember the line from the old Phil Collins tune..."If you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand...." I would not save their sorry hides if they begged me. They are utterly worthless "people".
To: watsonfellow
The wave of patriotism across the country hasn't reached many area teen-agers who questioned Friday the need to retaliate and vowed not to fight if called upon for duty.
WHAT THE HELL EVER. Disrespectful little punks. Any American not willing to fight for their country if called to duty should not be able to take advantage of the benefits offered by being an American.
To: watsonfellow
These little bastards are pathetic. The reason they have the right to even say these things is because people have fought, bled and died for their little ingrate @sses.
I'll bet they would fight for their Air Jordans or their future welfare checks though.

"I'm not in a rush to help our country because our country is already messed up." I sure wish this kid would realize that only in a democratic country could they say something like this about their country without risking being arrested, tortured, jailed, or even executed.
Idiot. Then again, it is the mission of the armed forces to protect our country so stupid people can say stupid things - one of the "gifts" of democracy, I guess...

I can now state with uneqivocal certainty that if any terrorist attack ever occurs in the Bay Area - SF, Oakland, Berkeley, anywhere in that hate-America zone - I will not be stepping in line to help. No rushing to the scene to help with disaster relief efforts. Not even donating a single dime to victims' funds, unless I can be 100% assured they will go to people that weren't consumed with anti-US hate beforehand, such as hurt police or firemen. Let them deal with it THEMSELVES. That's what socialism is all about, right?
